Why do people pretend that both Zelda and The Shitter 3 have good open worlds?

To be fair, they did introduce the points of interest well. The game basically starts with "Here is all the stuff in the world!". The other games it gets compared to generally have good points of interest as well, they just dont have a plateau which is specifically designed to show them all at once.

All of the features (footprints, objects of interest, blood trails) are still visible without witcher senses, the senses just highlight them to make them easier to see so you don't have to squint at the monitor like a retard. The only exception is smell, but in that case it actually does represent a Witcher ability and if you can think of a better way to portray smell in a video game I'd like to hear it.

And in any case some of it could represent things Geralt already knows but the player does not. Geralt would know which road leads to Kaer Morhen for example, he wouldn't need to be told by some filthy peasant.

Because Zelda's open world content encourages exploration and experimentation with the game's various systems. Witcher 3's open worlds were just filler in between doing very well crafted sidequests and story sequences.

You can't really compare the two games.
One is an rpg in an open world, the other is an open world to fuck around in and do shitty puzzles.
