Are games art?

The non meme answer is yes, but "art" doesn't mean what most people think it means.

Being "Art" isn't really all that special

Nobody can define art so it doesn't matter. Might as well ask if games are fairy dust.

Anything can be art in a person's eyes. It's all subjective. Personally, I think great art is put into games, but I find the final product is just that. A piece of software made for money. Sure, there are hobbyists and outliers, but for the majority I think it's solely a commercial product with careful thought put into it.
