I honestly don't know how people figured it all out, some of the orbs were in places like the bottom of the ocean in a hidden cave that you came within 1% life of drowning to reach, and even then it's hidden in a pile of debris in a corner of the otherwise empty cave. I'm told there's another mount available from a similar chain of hidden shit but I haven't played the game in months.
