To piss you off xd
>>

Why would I do either, when I can just emulate what I want for free?
>>
>>381996741
But a real SNES would be all yellowed and by the way aren't SNES games quite expensive nowadays?
>>

I already have an snes with games that my family bought 26 years ago.

Because the old one doesn't run that well nowadays for some reason. Also Starfox 2.

probably won't actually buy it, but it's not such a terrible idea either.

Because it's new and easily available (nobody buys these things in Europe).

I doubt that works, that cables only works for specific devices that are prepared to use them

I don't give a shit about your opinion. It's the only way to play this game. The SNES mini is worth it just for it.
>>
>>381997135
Just play them on a crt they are dirt cheap and you get the full nostalgia experience unlike the snes classic.

>It's the only way to play this game.
Considering you can emulate a version that's basically finished, that doesn't mean shit. And that's assuming they actually finish it and didn't just package the almost finished rom.
>>
>>381997883
You can probably fit every snes game in a 4gb SD
>>
>>381998014
as opposed to people shoving literal filters onto a screen to make it "look" like a crt?
>>
>>381998068
>And that's assuming they actually finish it and didn't just package the almost finished rom.

Kind of this. I wanna believe in them. I really do. But man was I disappointed when they released Earthbound Beginnings and it was just the old translation ROM everyone knew and kind of tolerated. I feel like that would happen again, even if I've been told otherwise,
>>
>>381997570
>im a retard who will spend $60+ for a 20 year old game.
>>
>>381998038
One of the original devs confirmed on twitter that the versions you can find online are not 100% finished
>>
>>381998293
and once the SNES classic gets hacked, the rom will be readily available online :)
>>
>>381998290
Uh... You actually get 21 games. That's 3.80$ a game, cheaper than if you buy these on the virtual console. So no, I'm not paying for just one game.

OP has a poi-
>>
>>381996958
what's the difference between a famicom and a snes?
>>
>>381998501
nothing at all for super fami and SNES. If you mean the original FC and NES then a shit ton
>>
>>381998413
other than star fox 2 all those other game you can get for free on your computer so yes you basically are spending 60+ dollars for 1 game
>>
>>381998413
>removing the context
The original point was that there was no point buying the thing when SF2 is the only game you can't just emulate, meaning you're effectively buying it just for that and even then we don't know if it'll actually be the full game or just the unfinished ROM that already exists.
>>
>>381998501
Different regions.
SuFami is the same region as US snes, but the PAL snes is different.
>>
>>381998531
so USA got a super famicom that can't even play snes games but only super famicom games?
>>
>>381997385
>>381997653
so i need to buy:

- real SNES
- 21 carts
- this cable doohickey
- CRT

wow such savings
>>
>>381998615
No. On a hardware level the superfamicom and the SNES are literally 100% identical. The only difference is case design and cartridge shape. If you cut out the little tabs on the SNES, then you can play both no problem

>why do you buy games when you can steal them

gee i don't know, because i'm not a filthy thief with no money?
>>
>>381996741
Because a used non-yellowed SNES costs too much fucking money. Games too.
Thanks, mom and pops.
(I got mine jacked a few years ago last time I moved)
>>
>>381996741

FF3 and Earthbound alone are like $55 on eBay. I'd still have to buy a system.

Can I emulate these games? Absolutely, but the fact is that it's going to be convenient to have a box that I can push one switch to turn on and have games going. It's going to be a cool collectors item, and all my normalfag friends are going to enjoy it more than explaining how to setup an emulator on their phone or PC.
>>
>>381998284
That's because that version was the completed, but never released version of the game anon.
>>
>>381998660
Just emulate on the device you're typing then fag.
>>
>>381998813
if you're not stupid and know how to set filters on ebay you can get one for like $30

This so much. I got one of these fellas for 15 dollars from some granny at a flea market. Game me SMW and the cables and all. Life is kinda cool sometimes.
>>
>>381996741
I'm sure a lot of average consumers would rather buy a box that has all of the decent games already in it than trying to get all the cartridges.
Also, the original SNES only had composite. This has HDMI.
>>
>>381999051
mad scalping victim :^)
>>
>>381998981
Why would think that I'm going to argue with you? As I said, it's your money to spend how you see fit. I'm not going to pay the ridiculous price for what amounts to a bunch of SNES ROMS in a pretty case, especially when a lot of them are already available on virtual console stores if you want to get them legibly. To be quite frank; I've already played most of them anyway.
>>
>>381999060
Huge input lag.
>>
>>381999136
>all the the decent games
It's missing DKC 2 and 3. That ALONE disqualifies it from that sort of thinking.
>>
>>381999224
youre already getting input lag if youre playing on an hdtv
>>
>>381999256
DKC3 was mediocre

I agree with DKC2 but what it also really misses is Secret of Evermore, Chrono Trigger and Terranigma

just like they did with NES mini - put emulator on it, download bunch of ROMs without any quality control whatsoever and call it a day.

I got a raspberry pi 3 with retropie, it does everything that the NES classic and SNES classic does. No regrets.
>>
I want one cause I think it's cool to have a mockup of the actual console with the option of 1080p output but none of us will be able to get one anyway. Can't wait for Nintendo to produce a whopping 54 units and be sold out in 30 seconds due to scalpers.
>>
