Trading Altera+Herc for Waver account

Cu Chulainn (Lancer) is pretty much the best 3* Servant you can get. When you Ascend him once he learns Protection From Arrows, which is just silly. It makes him invulnerable to the next three attacks that come his way, which in addition to his first skill (which revives him when he's killed) makes him nearly immortal. His NP having a death effect is also pretty nice.

She's tanky as fuck and has an on demand group invuln, which lets you do content you just aren't ready for yet which is definitely useful since it lets you progress faster early on. She falls off hard when you get more powerful servants that are adequately leveled since she just doesn't do much damage though.

Here is the honest answer.

For most of this year, her HP and damage mitigation ability makes her capable of pulling you through content that would be hopeless otherwise.

The main issue with her is her lack of attack compared to even 4* servants at similar levels, and her Noble Phantasm stuns her after use.

They eventually fix the stun, but it takes years of patches.

The main reason Jeanne is frowned upon is Alter Jeanne is one of the greatest units in the game bar none, and overshadows her in every way.

The other reason is that you have the opportunity to get multiple 5*s for free, which astronomically doesn't happen once you're playing the game for real. So Jeanne is considered "giving up".

In all honesty, if you plan to stick with the game for years, it's a bad idea. But she will hold your hand through the rough start.

The thing is, there is no way this game would survive breakneck updates. The gacha is too horrifying, and revolves around people saving up large masses of quartz to use on one character over great spans of time.

It has nothing to do with the gacha element, it has everything to do with the game's magic wearing off, because NA are always trying to catch the next big thing.
