my guess is he considered his behavior was hypocritical when he came to kneel at Kain even though he double crossed him on the mutation

He could be referring to how Kain refused to die in Blood Omen since he saw his Vampire self as an improvement over his humanself and allowed Nosgoth to become corrupt by doing so but Raziel showing signs of improvement (Grew wings) over Kain had him kill Raziel who he saw as a threat to his rule.
Hypocrisy being that Kain allowed Nosgoth to fall because he saw himself as an improvement of humanity. But didn't want to allow Raziel to live despite him being an improvement over Kain.
