How do we put an end to scalpers?
>>381970462
By not buying from them.
>>381970462
We don't. Companies do by increasing supply.
>>381970462
It's capitalism in action. The weak should fear the strong.
Limit the amount of consoles one person can buy.
>tfw buying out all the snes mini classic in my town first thing
How do we put an end to people overpaying for electronics instead of being patient and waiting for them to be restocked?
>>381970462
>Scalping Wii U
LOL
>>381970719
Story behind that pic?
>>381970741
By actually restocking them.
>>381970553
That doesn't stop them from hoarding the product in the first place
Make laws against it? Protest stores that allow people to buy insane amounts of something?
Follow them home and collect their addresses in a database then launch a coordinated global strike to euthanize them and their immediate families. Forced sterilization could be a more humane option but they don't really deserve that.
>>381970741
>implying the nes classic ever got an actual restock
LOL
>>381970990
If no one buys above MSRP they'll be forced to sell at a loss.
>>381971021
>restricting the free market
>>381970649
Proper Capitalism with working regulations would see scalpers' asses fined and behind bars.
>>381970462
Fuck them. Fuck them hard.
>>381970801
>Story behind that pic?
just open up the talmud
>>381970462
The real answer is actually meeting demand in the first place. Everyone and their mother knew the SNES classic was coming out when the NES classic was discontinued, so why they didn't start pre orders then baffles me. Isn't that the point of preordering?
That being said, I don't know why Nintendo doesn't make a "certified seller" program or something like apple to prevent just this sort of thing. They can then ask walmart, amazon, and ebay to not allow resellers, and then scalping becomes impossible.
>>381971181
Yeah, but since Nintendo said they were only shipping for this year, it's almost guaranteed to break even if you wait until 2018. The peak will probably be this November, but it's almost guaranteed a profit no matter when you sell.
>>381971532
>not understanding that the free market naturally has system-destroying loopholes and exceptions which require maintenance
>>381970719
>>381970462
What's with scalpers and Nintendo products?
>>381971549
>Proper Capitalism
>regulations
>>381971741
Historically speaking, Nintendo is a gold mine for failing to meet consumer demand.
>>381971697
>They can then ask walmart, amazon, and ebay to not allow resellers
They have no obligation to listen to nintendo, though. Nor should they.
>>381971532
>>381971549
This would be retarded. I'm all for regulating shit when it's needed but this isn't an example of that.
>>381971820
>Proper Capitalism
>regulations
Enjoy your monopolies, raping of the environment, and toxins in every product you buy
>>381971741
They restrict supply to get headlines and media stories. Also gets crazies froffing at the mouth creating a consumer frenzy giving the product elevated perceived value.
>>381970462
I wonder if he sold those Us
>>381971929
>They restrict supply to get headlines and media stories. Also gets crazies froffing at the mouth creating a consumer frenzy giving the product elevated perceived value.
But it doesn't make them money, it makes the scalpers money and punishes the people who actually want the product
>>381971851
>They have no obligation to listen to nintendo
If Nintendo threatened not to send them more than one wave of consoles, they would have an obligation to listen.
>>381971741
Nintendo blows dick at manufacturing. NES classic sales were like, a quarter million last holiday season, and that was all Nintendo really had out for the holidays.
>>381971851
>They have no obligation to listen to nintendo, though. Nor should they.
Well, not that Nintendo would actually do it, but they could limit supplies to those distributors. Besides, YouTube and Twitch don't have to allow Nintendo to be little shits regarding their content and copyright, and they do that for free.
>>381970462
A mix of a couple things:
1) Companies producing enough products in the first place to not cause a shortage where the demand can be met. Nintendo was super bad about that and we STILL had people looking for the NES classic at where I work for months until people got mad and gave up. Kinda feels that way with the Switch too, neither one we never got big shipments in for.
2) Retail stores standing there ground on the item limit rule and not giving in to people trying to break them, or actually punish them if they do for once. "Customer is always right" saying have made stores so spineless now and it's frustrating.
I'd add people not being greedy brats and buying a bunch to scalp in the first place, but I already know that's never going to happen.
>>381972078
>Doesn't make them money.
If it's sold out, they've made their money. They don't care if it's a scalper or a Nintendo fan boy.
>buying a lot is bad
get out commies
>>381971741
Nobody cares about Microsoft or Sony products enough.
>>381972078
They have plenty of money. Image is extremely valuable, especially to their investors. And that's what this all does. Creates the image that they are doing amazing, keeps investors confident and raises stock prices.
>>381970462
dox them
>Already preordered 12 SNES Classics
Ballin'
The only way to get rid of them would be for pathetic video game addicts to refuse to pay above the MSRP forcing them to sell at cost , preferably at a loss, which would lead them to stop doing it.
Too bad this board is swarming with addicts spamming F5 hoping for their latest fix while also looking at Ebay.
>>381972265
What makes Nintendo more money?
A) Releasing 100 systems to meet demand
B) Releasing 20 systems and leaving money on the table
Whyd this woman take a picture with the wii us
>>381971532
>Believing in "free markets" in the first place
>>381971741
you should see the pictures of the people who resell shoes, they got 500+ boxes in their garage and resell them for 1000+
>>381972563
You're just another loser who has no comprehension on how global economics and large scale mass production work.
These piece of shit mini emulators are just a cash grab that also works really well as a publicity stunt thanks to the mindless drones who obsess over social media and influencers riding on the "I'm a video game playing nerd" trend".
I stopped caring about these products when I realized I'm always too slow to catch the pre-orders in time and know the scalpers will hoard the rest of the inventory. Nintendo wins either way since their product gets bought, so they don't care about me (and many other people like me) as a casual consumer. These consoles will never be genuinely played with by someone who wants to play them for the novelty, and will instead just gather dust in some middle age American womans garage forever. Hope you're happy Nintendo, this is your fan base now.
>>381972329
More like nintenbros will buy anything nintendo also sony & microsoft don't put out a low supply.
>>381972765
It used to be really bad, becuase shoe companies announced them via twitter, making it really easy for bots to scoop up a lot of them. I knew a guy in high school who came to school with thousand dollar shoes because he was selling most of them at massive profits.
>>381972657
back to /lefypol/, cum eater
>>381972329
PS2 sold more than N64, GameCube and WII together. I think is the opposite, nobody really cares about Nintendo except for its adoctrinated fanbase.
>>381973083
I'm not a /leftypol/ack.
Have you noticed how scalping only works with Nintendo products?
Because only nintendorks are this desperate to get their products as soon they launch. And only Nintendo is jewish enough to create artificial demand.
>>381971741
Easy money. Nintendo always releases small amounts of products to make them the hot, talked about item. Secondly, Nintenbros are fucking pathetic virgins who will actually pay a hundred or more above MSRP for a literal child's toy.
Kill their children. Kill te if no children.
>>381971549
LOL. Might as well jail people for hiding rare pepes.
>>381971916
Every monopoly has been created by government intervention, but yes you're right about the raping of the environment and the toxic products.
>>381973140
i've been scalping 1070s for a while now.
bigger money in the GPU market with all the nerds and their autism mining which will have zero payout in the end.
idiots are eating that shit up like beanie babies thinking they'll be able to afford body pillows for life.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9xZznpVWXA
Scalpers are fucking scum.
>>381974578
How much could I get for a 1070 I've had since around launch time?
There is literally nothing wrong with scalpers
Anyone who scams nintendo retards out of their money is fine by me
This thread literally reeks of redditors and underage children. Even in communist/socialist countries, scalping exist. "Demand" is not bound to any governmental/economic system.
>>381973140
>im mad my sornys cant be resold
haha ok faggot
>>381972862
>You're just another loser who has no comprehension on how global economics and large scale mass production work.
>Make 5 copies and make less than 1% of your profit alienating future buyers
>Make 1,000 copies and sell to 90+% of your buyers
Wonder which makes more
>>381972657
>bureaucratic regulation is responsible for all the wonderful amenities of life that I currently enjoy, thought the brainwashed leftist as he typed on a device literally built on the back of the free market.
>>381970719
Such a bad shop.
>>381975745
>his power supply is enforced by regulations ensuring that it is both efficient and safe
Anon almost every possession on the market is produced with safety and health of the consumer in mind. Even the wood of the floor your chair is sitting on has to be able to support your heavy weight in order to be used for housing.
>>381971741
Nintendo puts out a very limited supply of all their products nowadays, fuck, even the Switch, their brand new console, was being sold out within like the first week because they only put out a limited supply at first.
They basically do everything in favor of scalpers.
Please tell me shes bankrupt after wii u being a blunder
>>381975745
I believe in markets. I just don't believe in becoming Somalia.
>>381970462
Simple.
Make physical consoles act as services.
People who pay with credit/debit will have their info put in a registry that only retailers will have access to and the client must accept these terms in order to buy the product with credit/debit.
Scalping is going out of fucking control these days, I cannot find a decent seat in some live concerts because of bots buying tickets out instantly, and I cannot find any new consoles even several months after launch because of these fucking lowest of scums scalpers.
nintenbros are retarded
it has nothing to do with their taste in vidya as well
you idiots blame consumers rather than producers
>>381971181
Nice try, I can sit on my $600 NES mini for years and years, all no matter how much people may not want to buy it, its discontinued and will slowly work its way to being $600 normally. I gain everything from waiting, and lost nothing from waiting as well, bitch.
>>381977934
Probably. Nothing makes me happier than seeing scalpers get burned.
Scalpers wouldn't be a thing if companies properly supplied their products. You've probably noticed that no other company ever had this problem. Nintendofags will still defend this.
>>381978546
>thethinkingcap
Really made ME think
>>381971619
Lol
Scalpers aren't the problem. The people buying from them are.
>>381978536
It's literally never selling for $600. Not in 10 years, not in 50. Well, maybe if inflation makes $600 like $60 or something. It's just not that much of a collector's item, people will buy repro systems or bootleg systems or actual systems before they'd shell out that much for a Nintendo branded emulator.
