Video games don't help alleviate depression. They help cause it.

Only thing that keeps it at bay is the iron, staying active, and getting aesthetic. Lifting, running, basketball, golf, frisbee, you name it it's better than gaming.

Nothing wrong with enjoying vidya, just don't make it your life and you're far less likely to be depressed.
