G-rank isn't the problem, you can literally hit it in a matter of hours and you're encouraged to do so to catch up to the new stuff. The problem is the story quests you have to do to get them are incredibly tedious and to top it all off, the story dialogue is largely unskippable and felynes in particular like to pose and take up time between every message. Z2 is set to remove that criteria and just give them immediately though, so happy days to anyone who jumps in after that drops.
