It does. I'm pretty autistic with monitoring sales and the only neat thing is that almost everything is on sale but they are on sale for what they always go on sale for. I've noticed other (legit) sites that sell Steam keys are having much better sales than Steam these days where you actually get big steals.

Refunds killed any deep discounts.

Bundlestars has always had ridiculous cuts for any game made by warner bros, but they stepped up a lot this year with their store sales. Indiegala has been hitting it out of the fucking park, too.

Even greenman has been having some generally better deals. The only cockblock is that lots of games just aren't available on those sites but are on steam proper.

Summary
Steam Summer Sale made 40% more money this year.
An average discount was 50% and less discounted titles seem to have brought more revenue.
The removal of flash and daily deals might be the reason for the increase in sales and the decrease in discounts.

Yeah, shaving WB games to the bone is kind of their "thing".

They had Mordor half-off almost a month after release too, $30 with all DLC not too long after that, and fairly rapid drops for the full package after that.

Steam's summer sale price now is a little better than their $5, but they're very late on it comparatively.

Because Steam has been getting extremely stale over the past few years, there's simply no new games
Anyone hyping over the sale is just missing the old esssentials like Counter-Strike, Mount&Blade, Half-Life, etc.

Anyone can recommend a good spaceship pilot simulator? Been playing stellaris these last days, and now I am felling the urge to pilot a spaceship, burning the galaxy of all that is not human gets old fast.

I actually wanted a game where you can trade ships of different size, and where they behave differently, say going from a fighter to a frigate to a destroyer should have a different feel when piloting, dont know if there is any game out there like this.

Steam sales always suck now. Most of the games that are sale you can buy off any key site for even cheaper, even new games. Only benefit is if you regret your purchase, you can refund it if you use Steam.
