What are the most intense shooters you've ever played? I've played a lot of Rainbow Six Siege and Battlefield 4 and the firefights in that get me rock hard.

Nominate your favourite operator/gun feel/firefight games.

Different vibes from different games.

Battlefield has a good warzone shit is going nuts around you moments

Fear has the best VS ai feels.

Turok 2 feels rad as fuck

Original counter strike had the best squad vs squad feel.
>>
>>381946209
pubg because of the fear of resetting the entire match
>>
Quiet like Far Crys actually.
Sneaking around shooting guys in the head with a silenced gun, then having a huge firefight with helicopters and guys everywhere.
It's like a guilty pleasure almost
>>
>>381946664
Honestly not even thought about Fear, was never a fan of jumpscares so put me off. Might try out Turok as well. Steam Sale is upon us, fellow stalker.

Insurgency is one of the only few games that made me shit myself the first time I fired a gun in it. The sound of shooting the M4 for the first time in the test range made me cum from how concussive and loud it was compared to most games with unsatisfying weapons.

The firefights in Insurgency are pretty intense. Everything's loud, you can't see shit and suppressive fire is actually a viable tactic. Letting the 249 rip on goatfuckers is always a joy.
>>
>>381948251
Currently installing Quake Champions but will dust off Insurgency for the time being. Also rated Red Orchestra for PTSD inducing gameplay.

alright fag, since you asked

Which shooters have you played that have left your heart racing, and your nerves fried? I want nail-biting, pulse pounding action that rewards a level head and good reactions. I play a lot of Hotline Miami and Siege, and love the tension, frantic outbursts of violence and the relief at the end of a round. Bonus points for excellent sound design, and broad choice of weaponry.

OP here, a lot of people insist that CS:GO is an essential addition to a PC player's library but I found that CS:S is the better game for a fraction of the price with dedicated shitposting lobbies. Also Insurgency and Rainbow Six Siege are strong picks. The Stalker series is a more tense shooter but still very absorbing.

True, true but it does have traitor rounds that result in heart racing moments where you make your move, actually fuck up if you panic and a short 30 seconds where you bust out a gun and shoot a room full of people then escape describes what he wants in a game.

It's 2D just like Hotline Miami so I doubt he would make it a big deal.

shame it's filled with unfun meta shitters that want to win win win 24/7

Planetside 1 or 2 during their prime, most definitely. Especially during entrenched sieges, shit blowing up from all sides, fighter and bombers flying over frantically, multiple squad drops from galaxies at flight ceiling, tanks shelling the fuck out of choke points, shit was wild.Too bad the games are dead now, there was nothing like the two games I've ever played before or since. RIP
>>

the soundtrack is meh, so is the sound design

>>

Is the steam version worth the extra for the DLC?
>>
>>381953214
I liked both DLC's. People here either praise it or say it sucks but it's more FEAR gameplay so I like it.
>>
>>381953214
Yes. It's worth it just for Extraction Point alone.
>>
>>381949127
I don't know if this counts... but the Breaking Point mod for Arma 3.

It's jogging simulator extreme. You spent 45 minutes jogging to a town to try and find supplies hoping no one is around to snipe your ass. And when you're in town and you hear footsteps outside, your heart starts pounding and you just pray they aren't armed or just passing by. Those sudden, intense, violent firefights come and go so quick but it leaves a mark for sure
>>
honestly i gotta go with squad

the firefights actually make me nervous and i tense up when i hear shooting

>OH SHIT I'M FEELING IT

>getting pinned down by enemy fire
>hear bullets cracking right above your head
>green tracers are flying right by you, coming out from a plume of smoke
>explosions are concussive
>teammate is laying down fire with a 249
>blast motherfuckers through sheet metal and wood with a shotgun

Insurgency is one of the few games that makes semi auto fire viable and I love it.
>>
Is FEAR 2 still okay even though it's not as good as the first FEAR?
>>
Rising Storm, Guadalcanal: american piggus have been fucking our shit up for ages, most tickets gone with 3 pairs of objectives to cap. New commander offers a banzai charge on B when we only have about 100 tickets left, clearly going to lose. amazingly half the team rush in, and we just go to town on the americans with bayonets, and katanas. then we turn onto A and by that point the whole team is in on the action, and before we know it we are onto the next wave. Basically call in artillery barrage and run in just as it ends, and the americans cant handle it, i die, but after bayoneting a flamer who was sneaking up on our flank, dying for the glorious emperor. we end up running out of tickets on the last cap, but it was worth it for the salt.

I've been enjoying Siege too. It's intense but also fun in a weird goofy way somehow. Probably due to all the pseudo-sci-fi gadgets.
>>
Project Reality is a pretty fun balance between ARMA and Battlefield. You don't have to be autistic enough to spend 80% of a match walking around, but dying often means several minutes until you're back in the action, so there's some tension to staying alive. It's also the only game I've seen where you can join a public server and have almost everyone on mics. Doesn't hurt that it's free.
>>
I don't play many shooters these days but I was really into Battlefield 3 back when it was popular. I got pretty damn good at dogfights those were intense.
