What I've heard it's the same with added melee weapons. I'm more worried about enemy variety which was pretty poor in MGSV too.

If Konami had said they were just making a co-op expansion, maybe with a few changes to the map or some unique missions ala splinter cell co-op, I would of been into it, but instead they decided to use literally the most boring and tired plot device/enemy type
