Certain 3*s are secret 4/5's in terms of how fucking good they are. Cu (fsn) is unkillable and was one of the best lancers in the game for a long time despite being a 3* (and a launch character at that)

If you're going to watch ONLY the anime and not read the VN, Ufotable did a great job adapting Fate/Zero then Unlimited Blade Works. They operate in a way where there are a ton of paralells and callbacks to one another, where it almost feels like UBW is a second season to Zero.
It was done remarkably well, probably the best anime adaptation next to Jojo.
