Is a good game, a bit tiring the first few hours since you don't know shit and you actually walk everywhere and those fucking green bug-wolfs chace you all the way to Balmora, but after getting a good sword and some armor you can pretty much do whatever the fuck you want, something refreshing since I played Skyrim and Fallout 3 before trying Morrowind.
I went to Caius, he told me to fuck around and see the sights, i left to Seida Nim or whatever, joined the legion and totally forgot about the main quest, instead just doing legion and imperial cult shit as I pleased.
Combat is shit, I dont really feel like defending it even when I learned how the stamina thing works, but other than that I think its a good game.

Adding random combat defeats your argument that TES has gameplay outside of combat, because you're saying the game has to switch to combat for it to become interesting. You don't need a mod for that, that's how it works in the vanilla game. Once you drain an enemy's fatigue they get knocked to the ground. Attacks on knocked down or paralyzed enemies deal damage to health instead of fatigue. At high skills levels hand-to-hand is probably the most powerful melee skill for one-on-one fights since every punch staggers and once they are knocked down they are basically permanently stunlocked: as soon as they get up they fall back down with a single punch due to their already low fatigue.

Let's not forget the daedric ruins that have quests from daedra statues which are fucking fantastic, or finding a statue monument out in the world for the same. Yeah sure a lot of the crypts and caves were samey but some had great shit, especially if you explored them at a higher level for higher loot tables. there's at least 3 ways to instant travel besides boats and striders and 5+ if you do some questing major and minor, probably more. Sure it's gay to backtrack to turn in some quests with piss poor rewards but whatever, it's just too bad theres no roaming super mobs in certain areas to keep you on your toes. the best thing about morrowind is that levitate and jump add vertical elements to the dungeons and add sweet treasure nooks for people who pay closer attention to shit.
