If the game has a LOT of cute content I will overlook gameplay flaws.

For example, Senran Kagura has side missions to acquaint you better with the cute characters and flesh them out so you're invested in them. There's a lot of superficial customization too.

The gameplay itself gets rather tedious if you've been playing one girl for a while but there are a ton to pick from so they glossed over that pretty well.
