L4d1, the major problem with L4D2 being that Rochelle was a non-character. Zoey (the other token female) was the most boring of the original as well, but nowhere near as bad as Rochelle. Ellis, Nick, and Coach were all great, though, in many ways superior to the original cast. A bit more whacky/'toon' than the original cast (who were much more frequently portrayed as genuinely terrified and miserable) but it absolutely worked.

Other than the females, l4d2 had an objectively better cast in all aspects. In terms of interesting I would put Zoey and Rochelle as equals, although they're both bland. Zoey is cute and into zombie horror, other than that she's nothing. Rochelle is just a neutral, borderline asexual black chick made to offend as few people as possible.

Nah, Zoey really did have at least some tiny shreds of characterization. Mostly just in being angry, especially in the context of the generally more subdued characterizations of the first game. Rochelle was just literally nothing. She had one or two exchanges with the other characters where she played the mediator/'mother', but it never rose to the level of a 'trait'. She got manic, but all the characters in the series do.

POST ABSOLUTE KINOCAMPAIGN

Hard Rain was perfection. Literally perfection in my opinion. It show the power of the source engine, it has some good ass gameplay and level design.
Fuck, i love the slow transition to a raining map and the fact that the return is with the rain, it's so fucking damn atmospheric, it's so fucking amazing, it's one of the best RAIN/Thunderstorm in videogame in my opinion and i think it's one of the best campaign in the whole serie.

I also happens to like L4D2 a bit more than L4D1, but that's a pretty unpopulars opinion considering how scandalous its existence is! Like, releasing one year after L4D1 when the game was still supported and missed many gamemode they promised?
Or, the fact that it is less serious than L4D1.. which is one of the good point of the game in my opinion and reflect well the fact that they're southerners, seeing them being so confident and positive even thought the apocalypse is there. Or people didn't liked the melee but i personally did!
So yeah, it's pretty mixed. Althought i really like the fact that it's two-games-in-ones since L4D1 was added and that there is the workshop. Wish you could add new weapon tho, not simply reskinning them. Oh well.

Left 4 Dead was literally the game that made me get a 360. I saw G4 cover it during E3 and immediately knew I needed it.
One of the stupidest game related stories i have was the kinda convoluted way of how I got to play it for the first time.
Come release day, I somehow managed to convince Friend A to let me borrow it, despite me not having a 360 at the time. After school, I then had to try to convince Friend B to let me come over and play it on their 360, despite them really not liking zombie games at all. Cut to an hour later, Friend B is now all about buying the game themselves and I'm hellbent on getting a 360 for christmas.
