I liked mikan at first but her personality got annoying quick, chiaki and sonia are objectively best girls. Chiaki a qt with a decent personality, and for some reason sonia's english VA gave me a boner.
I played the original way back, before it even released on Vita, and honestly don't remember much, how do people typically rate the two? All I can say for sure by comparison is that the ending of 2 was way better than 1.

Is 3 any good? I really like the first 2 but I'm a bit worried 3 will be a bit of a cash in, considering how 1 and 2 came out consecutively, and 3 wasn't announced until they started to milk the franchise a little.

Not that anond, but I couldn't stand the characters of DR2 because they had very little motive to kill each other, but did so anyway. At the end of each chapter after the first, they would promise each other not to kill and that everything would work out. Then immediately, one would back stab the other and the cycle continues. The only time they were truly forced to kill one another was in chapter 4.

The characters of both DR1 and DRV3 had better motives all around and acted much better than those of DR2.
