Arena had a fantastic stealing mechanic. If you were high level enough, you could steal things that cost a pretty penny and finance yourself that way.

Albion lets you, though probably not intended. If you run up to the counter in shops, right click to bring up the cursor just as you hit the counter, you extend the range of the cursor a lot further than you normally would be able to. You can grab some good stuff displayed further back in the shop.

Oddly, nobody seems to care, until you get to the big city in the desert where all the good shit is, the guy starts shouting at you and eventually boots you out (I think)

that's not really a glitch, it just resets the game/gives you the option to save.

When I died, I would just restart from the last save. If you are going for 100% (even if you aren't), the game isn't too tough.
