What order should I be playing these games in, release order

Release order. Birth by sleep is nice to play before KH2 because of the secret boss and the fact that final mix is gonna repeat a name that you dont know but otherwise its most enjoyable the way they released them. Also minor additions to gameplay make them gradually better, a tiny bit worse after KH2 then back to better again

Chronological order would be

That's only if you want to know pretty much everything about the plot in correct order.

but be sure to take a break after CoM to watch the 358 movie, otherwise a certain character's appearance might not make any sense. Re: Coded is absolutely pointless to my knowledge but i enjoyed the gameplay for what it was 358 was basically shit though. dont bother actually playing unless youre an autist like me, and as for Re: CoM or GBA CoM, it depends on your taste. I recommend Re: CoM for slightly more content, but some people prefer the sprites of the GBA version.

Playing through the series as we speak. Go through release order. It's much more enjoyable that way.

KH1 > CoM > KH2 > Days > BBS > Re:Code > DDD

Play the GBA version of CoM. Not only is it just better overall, but the game has some fucking amazing sprite art that deserves to be appreciated.

Should I be trying to Tech everything in KH1? Currently in Agrabah and I feel like it's giving diminishing returns on enemies while I'm taking lots of damage
Also does tech stay in later KH?

Is Re:Coded any good? Currently running a KH gauntlet and I'm about to finish up 2. Is it worth playing or should I just watch the movie?

The thing about these games is that the first one was pretty good, unique idea, fun action rpg, story had some good things about it, mostly the heartless are kind of creepy, but then it ended on a cliffhanger.

Then it became clear that they have no plan for the story and it's literally LOST tier. Anyone expecting answers or a satisfying story from KHIII is deluding themselves
