In a few years people will get over it. Capcom clearly intends to take the MH franchise overall back in a standard multiplat direction, which is 100% normal for a major 3rd party series these days. The fundamentals aren't going to change from that alone, it'll still be something that doesn't appeal to total normies so the threads will go back to being ok once the shitposters get bored.

Hell, even Neptunia threads eventually got better after a few years of solid shitposting and that doesn't have anything remotely like the history, gameplay or hard core players that MH does. If that can recover anything can. It's a shame the wait will be a bit but that's how it is until stuff is released.

People that wanted to play XX, either on the Switch or 3DS, are pissed that ALLEGEDLY localization chances are now slim to none because of Capcom has put all of their resources into same day global launch of MHW.

This makes people angry for a variety of reasons.

The game is already mostly translated, as it's an expansion of X which made it here to America as Generations last year. Relatively fast too, the game was out less than half a year after the Japanese version. Therefore, most of the work is literally already finished. I'd wager upwards of 60%. If it doesn't make it over to the US/EU, it's pure penny pinching. Traditional mid-budget MH titles doesn't make that AAA money in the states like they're hope World will, but has had modestly good sales over the years. That, or they're fucking over longtime fans so as not to confuse the newcomers they're attempting to bring in with World by releasing another unrelated title not catered towards them. Not sure which is worse, but I can't blame anyone looking forward to the game for feeling betrayed.

A large portion of the fanbase also enjoys playing on portable platforms. So despite World being a multiplat, people that like playing the series on the go feel left out in the cold not getting Switch/3DS/Vita versions. Especially when you consider that the game already exists, completed and waiting to be played, but isn't being localized for bullshit reasons. Monster Hunter World might look better graphically than XX, but doesn't appeal to them because it's inconvenient.

Then there's the still up in the air notion that World is casualized because of it's new target audience. That still remains to be seen though, but new information is promising to the contrary.

In an ideal World, EVERYONE would be getting a Monster Hunter game to play sometime in the next year. Hell, hardcore fans could pick up both.

Instead, people that have been patiently waiting have been told to fuck off. Western version or nothing.

Probably because a lot of those "it doesn't feel right" style posts get combined with a bunch of excessive lies and exaggerations about the game, and while I don't blame any fanbase specifically, it's hard to ignore that a lot of it, especially on the first days of the reveal, came from there.

But anyway, why do you feel that way? From watching the gameplay demos everything core Monster Hunter is intact, but with a few new mechanics and a small handful of QoL changes done in such a way to not affect and instead work with the current gameplay. For the first time it actually feels like a proper sequel.

That is true, but it diminishes the fun of the experience IMMENSELY when you need guides and spreadsheets open at all times even for simple menu navigation. Especially when you like playing on the go, like I do. My biggest worry is that I'll drop a bunch of cash importing the game, have a shitty experience because of the language barrier, and then they'll drop the game on eShop in English or something later down the line long after it's relevant to cash in an already mostly finished game. Then (in a hypothetical nightmare world scenario) they'll complain that it didn't sell well enough, and use it as an excuse not to localize further games.
