As a SAM, when do I use Diversion to not ripoff aggro of the tank?
I used it before doing Midare setsugekka > Meikyo shisui > 3 finisher > Midare setsugekka but I still steal aggro from the tank after a while.

A tank sitting in tank stance just repeating their aggro combo over and over will never get aggro taken from them in a single target situation barring extraordinary circumstances (dramatic clvl or ilvl differences, dying multiple times in the same encounter) but this is a shitty and unoptimal way to play a tank. Most tanks want to do exactly one enmity combo in tank stance then drop tank stance entirely and never turn it back on (again, barring extraordinary circumstances)

This was easy to do in HW because SE wisely made tank damage scale off of vitality as well as strength, single-handedly solving the problems of raiding tanks wanting to equip slaying accessories to do adequate damage (and thus having shitty health pools), and giving tanks a scaling source of damage proportionally equal to the growth of a DPS's strength throughout the expansion, ensuring great enmity generation and damage dealing potential both in one master stroke. Everyone was happy.

In Stormblood they reverted the change to vitality, making it no longer increase tank damage, probably because of the change to the Death Penalty mechanic, which no longer decreases your vitality when revived, so tanks could theoretically do 100% of their damage even through multiple deaths even though this isn't practical because of tp/mp constraints after one death, let alone multiple.

So the problems both came back at once and nobody is happy. Tanks can equip fending gear and have ridiculously high health pools, but their damage and enmity generation suffer greatly for it since fending accessories grant tanks absolutely nothing for damage or enmity, only survivability. The problem is further compounded by making Stormblood accessories role-locked, meaning tanks cannot equip current-tier slaying accessories, so they've resorted to wearing HW slaying ones to keep enmity and try to deal as much damage as possible. SE really took a couple giant leaps backwards with the tank archetype in SB.

It also has the knock-on effect of making WAR drop to being absolutely the worst tank, since we don't do anywhere near as much damage as we used to, have almost no raid utility, and to top it off, switching stances halves our stacks, meaning that stance dancing is pretty much dead.

Sure, we can do 6 fell cleaves in a single berserk, but to pull that off, we have to drop half our stacks, do 3 full rotations to build up deliverance to max again, with a storm's eye combo, then pop inner release, berserk and have time to pull off all 6 combos.

It's a fuckton of setup, and unless all the fell cleaves crit, we do slightly more dps than a DRK just following their normal damage combo, so the only time to use it is if you know you have a solid 15 seconds where the boss won't be doing any mechanics, or if you need to help with a DPS check.

I mean at least worlds overtaken by Darkness (The Void) still have some form of life. Sounds like worlds destroyed by Light are completely barren. The absolute endgame of FFXIV will probably be killing Hydelyn or Zodiark/Hydelyn after they merge into one being again.

Not him but it doesn't really matter now in regards to tank cds now that DPS can essentially handle most busters if they so choose. Assuming a standard dps comp of 2 melee/ranged/caster, you have apock, palisade, two phys viruses, 1 magic viruses. This doesn't even count the spread of shared tank role cds given to each tank. If this tier is going to be barely harder than Creator, then PLDs cds will be overly excessive. PLD is the better off among the tank roles at the moment by sheer virtue of not being as janky and weird to play but it is teetering on the edge of being disregarded in muh speedrun meta, which is the meta that people seem to care about. WIth the amount of complaining about WAR/DRK, I wouldn't be surprised if the QoL fixes or buffs push them over PLD.

PLD has excellent cds and raidwide cds and healing too. The biggest issue is that their kit is wholly defensive. Sword or Shield, all PLD is doing is building up their Sheltron and Intervention. Shield Oath affects Holy Spirit, unlike Bloodspiller's interaction with Grit. Grit also being the times when Blackest Night turns into a solid gain when used properly. WAR is a bit weaker with only Upheaval scaling with Defiance and Unchained sharing its cd with Inner release but basically, if both tanks are swapping off each other regularly as they should be, PLD's cd count is unnecessary. The tier will need extraordinarily large sustained damage for PLD to actually shine, which not even Gordias or Midas did.

I started creating Party Finder farm groups on Leviathan since I'm a tank and DPS love instant queues. I used it to assess if the people joining have a decent attitude before I make a recruitment pitch.

About 98% of people you'll find are already in FCs, but I'd say at least a quarter of those don't have any real loyalty to their FC and are simply there just because. It's tough to weed out people who simply want a free ride vs those actually looking to improve and commit to content though, and on several occasions I've found people who pretty much bumble through raids and die to mechanics on various fights.

I only use it when I have a card I want in my spread or already used draw to RR what I want. You have to fill one to really make the most, otherwise RNG will fuck you over

I mostly use it to pull an extra heal from the Lady, and maybe draw a Balance/Arrow if I got nothing from my initial draw/Spin

They'll need to do something about it because eventually you're going to get tanks in roulette that are fresh off the boat who can't hold hate against DPS wearing Omega gear. Healers will eventually out DPS tanks who wear fending equipment (a good WHM already does).

They add all these cool new mechanics and changes to tanks but the way things are going, they won't be used as much because you gotta spam your enmity combos that haven't changed at all.
