I'm happy that they nerfed mini-sentries sometime ago.

It means that I can play Scout a lot more since nobody uses mini-sentries anymore and Scout is the funnest class to play in the whole game. Back before the mini-sentry nerf, there were so many people using mini's that Scout was unplayable.

I'm honestly totally fine with airblast as a mechanic. Even the brief movestun on the first puff isn't really a big deal to me. And Pyro is my least played class.

I MGE'd against a Pyro main recently, and while fighting against repeated puffing was annoying, I soon learned to rocket jump/S away from them, then hit them with hitscan or with rockets fired at weird intervals.

Yeah I think Pass Time is designed for teams of people who understand its mechanics already, which is a shame since you're not going to find that in pubs and Valve weren't willing to sponsor tournaments for it or anything.

A good way I found to blow the fuck out of casual m2 trigger-happy pyros is to just walk straight at them.
Some will wait for the rockets and literally do nothing until you're bumping into them, which is hilarious. But most will preemptively airblast when you get close enough and you can break their timing and rocket their face. Either way they look like retards and will stop trying to airblast every rocket you shoot.
Obviously this won't work with actual good players.

I disagree. The Sandman (although unfun to play against, that I agree) is a fun weapon to play as and yet terribly competitively unbalanced while casually "balanced". Why is it balanced casually? In the original draft of TF2, you get to play in a 12v12 mishmash of explosions and bullets. In this state, the Sandman is more balanced than it is in either Highlander or Sixes due to more sources of damage the Scout can take, thus underlining the -10 HP reduction.

If I pick any of the needleguns-- and I put a fair amount of time gitting gud at them in 2011, and enjoy using their unique aiming method-- then I am at a straight disadvantage to the enemy's Medics who use Crossbow.

What people dont understand about balancing around comp is that valve is clearly going in the direction of ending the current meta 6s meta of 2 scouts, 2 soliders (roamer and pocket), one medic, and one demo, maybe sniper depending on the point. The only things they can do to stop that are to make 5cp not the main competetive gamemode, because its way too stall heavy and benefits classes with high mobility more, and rework classes to be better in more gamemodes/maps.

Im glad they nerfed most of the banned comp weapons in the proposed changes, but that wont really fix the fact that most of the core class interactions are designed around 12s rathet than 6s

Why does everyone say pyro needed a rework more than heavy again? At least pyro has airblast and weapons to help the engi against sappers, and can still cause havoc between enemies if he gets them by suprise. Meanwhile heavy gets shit on by every other class aside from pyro unless you have a medic on your ass 24/7.

Yeah i did the numbers a while ago and comparatively, his level 2 sentry does less damage than engineer's mini sentry.

The average lowest hp for tf2 is 125, where 4/9 classes has 125hp

The mini sentry does 48 DPS, taking three seconds to kill the average class.

Toblerone's level 2 turret does 56 damage a second, and a fair amount of heroes have health in the 200-300 range, taking 4 seconds to kill most classes, not counting armor which is a slight damage reduction, and the fact some classes have 500-600 health, shields which block damage entirely as well.

He just feels so pitifully weak. No to mention most characters do solid damage at range, and can easily take out his turret if they focus on it, since he repairs it for 50 health per swing, and every projectile I can think of in ow from what I can remember has no falloff. Though it is a 6v6 situation, and his turret is meant to be a deterrent to flankers, so it shouldn't be that powerful, and it has a much quicker setup.

Did anybody see the proposed changes to the Panic Attack? I've been running a total Assault Engineer loadout (pic related) and I've been a massive backstop for the team; any push the power classes make, I fortify with dispenser, mini-sentry and four-shot bursts from my shotgun that I got gud enough with to one-burst heavies at short range.

But now they want to completely take the burst-fire mechanic away! I'm extremely asshurt about it because it'll force me to go Widowmaker if I want to keep up the burst fire capacity, but that endangers my metal supply!

It makes all of the sense on a class that uses it as its main gun, but not as a secondary. Engineer uses it as the main gun. I always run around wth four shots loaded and use it to obliterate fags who think an Engineer can't fight, but I know that it's barely useful on Soldier, Heavy and Pyro. Unless you're being a Heavy and are totally Fatscouting it.

Well the flare gun isn't actually original, it's based on the QuakeTF's Pyro having an incendiary rocket launcher to ignite from afar. Hell a lot of TF2 weapons are just QuakeTF weapons.
Scatterrgun is the Quake super shotty
Syringe gun is super nailgun
Rescue Ranger is a revamped engie rail gun
Flare Gun is incendiary cannon
Grenade Launcher has bouncing pipe bombs just like in Quake
Very little has actually changed in terms of what weapons you have because they just fucking work, and it's the reason why nearly all new weapons that have come out after TF2's release are either reskins or sidegrades. You just can't fuck with the formula too much or you end up with a different game altogether.`

I like control point the most. It seems to allow every style of play, and doesn't feel as tryhard as payload. Although stuff like cp_orange and cp_dustbowl take up most of the community servers, and the only maps are those comp maps that are pointlessly complex, and hard to figure out. Stuff like Well and Gorge are the best.

I guess you could say that I love indulging in cp.

Let me offer more basic advice.

amount of coordination it takes to take out multiple engie nests is far greater than it takes to setup, this is the problem. You would need multiple ubers with skilled demos and scouts to take down all the nests.

What are you talking about? All of soldier's primary unlocks are really good with the exception of the LL but even that has its use as discount gunboats.

Direct hit lets soldier 1 shot 125 classes, fight at longer ranges, jump higher, makes airshots easier, and fucks up sentries.

Black box is strong on the flank or if you want to hold an area for a long period of time.

Cow mangler is the same as stock but never runs out of ammo, great for roaming soldiers.

Beggars is still broken as hell with really powerful rocket jumps, never has to reload, and it fucks over pyros and heavies with burst fire.

Air strike is really strong in chokes or corridors.
