how can anyone like the new music? the samples they used are totally weak, they just fucking ripped the MIDI tracks from the PS1 version, changed instruments, flat out removed some layers, and sterilized the sound overall. This is DESPITE the original composer contacting them about potentially remixing for the game. They couldn't even be assed to get masters.

Agreed. They all sound generic, they tuned them down. There are some that are good (N.Cortex warped, rock it, hog wild), but others are awful (Snow go, bear it, Komodo bros). This last one is horrible.
I don't understand why they have watered them down.
Unlike other platforming games, there is no timer on Crash Bandicoot. You can take all the time that you want in the levels (which is great). So you only feel the rush from the music. Crash 1 is not that important, because it's difficult on its own, but Crash 2 and 3...
You have to have high beat speedy music to be pumped up.
