Pretty much.
Indie devs occasionally make alright games. Western indies make alright games like once every 5 years or something whereas with japs its once a year or every other year.
Western companies make an alright FPS now and then if you're into modern FPS. Stuff like stalker and arma. Jap companies make dumbed down, possibly broken fighting games that might be decent every now and then.

Aside from that there's nothing new to play if you aren't into ubisoft checklist games and "cinematic experiences".

I've played a lot, that's just my opinion. I don't like the majority of highly praised western indie games. As an example, if someone asked me to name good indie games hotline miami, risk of rain, and papers please would not be on the list.
