The PS4 finally got some fucking games just this year, I had plenty of enjoyment with my Wii-U and the games I didn't get but get remastered on Switch I'll just grab there. Why am I suppose to feel ashamed for having fun, the Switch couldn't have existed when the Wii-U did.

I would only agree to this if it's games that were generally lacking and could've used more. Super Mario Maker for example, and its lack of proper physics and slopes. Hell if they rereleased Star Fox Zero and made tweaks to the gameplay and added split screen couch, local, and online multiplayer and shit, it'd surely get a better reception. Hell maybe add a co-op mode to the base game where a friend can control one of the other pilots.

I was greatly disappointed with the Wii. So it took ages before I finally decided to get a Wii U.

The most important thing I would argue is an overworld that works for lvls you upload. They already have a way to play in a overworld-ish way with 100 mario challenge and you can play 4 levels in a row offline. I think it will push more people to actually finish the lvls if more good lvls was locked behind progression. You would also only need to find 1 good recommended overworld to have hours of fun instead of the pain that is scouring the internet for lvls one by one. The third thing is multiple goals. Would just be a cool thing coupled with an overworld. Or maybe bigger levels with more sub lvls possible. I dunno. Just less limitations on doors and shit.

I will never understand how so many people didn´t buy a Wii U calling it a piece of shit and yet they are interested in Wii U game ports for the Switch. What makes a console is the games. Is the the hybrid console gimmick that big of a difference to basically turn people from "eww" to "DO WANT" over the same library of games?

I get that Pokken and Mario Kart got a couple new things to justify the double purchase, but you can´t use hindsight to critiquize the past: 2017 re-releases don´t retroactively explain why people didn´t buy the fucking console in the first place if they were so interested in the library. And I ain´t believing the whole "Wii U was a shitty piece of hardware" thing because the Switch is basically a Wii U with the added handheld mode.

So far, Switch is literally Wii U for people who didn´t buy Wii U. Again, I repeat I am not ranting about the ports: re-releases are understandable from a business standpoint. It´s people´s inconsistency that confuses me.

This is funny to me because in the months leading up to Switch's reveal I was basically preaching that it needed to have WiiU backwards compatibility. Instead, Nintendo takes the PS4 route, ignores BC, and just proceeds to rerelease half the library on the damn thing. Because it's unbelievable that Nintendo is alienating Wii U owners by releasing better versions of games they own. I personally feel robbed for taking the risk of buying a Wii U, and it's frustrating that people who didn't take the risk are being rewarded for it.

Nintendo should rather make true sequels to these games, that way you satisfy people who didn't get the original game on Wii U and the people who bought a Wii U.

The Wii U sold like shit, but Nintendo still put out some great games on it, and I really like the library of titles I have. They have no reason not to port those games, when so few people played them the first time around. If more people can experience those games, imo that's only a good thing.

Also it's 4 years later. Of fucking course they're going to add a couple new things to the game in the process of porting (things they ran out of time for, or got common complaints about). With 64DS, Xenoblade 3DS, and OoT / MM 3DS you don't really have to do much upgrading in terms of visuals. In fact, for Xenoblade and Mario 64 they actually had to downgrade them a bit.
WWHD and now Samus Returns 3DS are probably the first times Nintendo has put effort into a remaster.
