Does anyone else think that if John Wick had come out in 2005 there would have been a PS2 tie in game that would have been pretty dope?
>>
>>381873273
Why do people disregard 3 all the time? If anything, it's the most like John Wick.
>>
Hotline Miami
>>
>>381873436
Because John Wick has a sense of style and coherence. Max Payne 3 does not.
>>
>>381873162

Stranglehold
>>
Payday 2, literally.
>>
Splinter Cell Conviction/Blacklist, the 'execute' command is'stylishly murder everyone in your line of sight', which is basically John Wick.
>>
>>
>>381873436
>>381873273
Never understood how Max Payne gets compared to John Wick in these threads.

Max Payne is straight up John Woo, HK movie style gun-fu with bullet time and diving in a gritty american noir setting.
John Wick is tacticool operator gun handling with krav maga and jiu jitsu.

Play Hitman Absolution and Splinter Cell Conviction guns blazing and abusing the mark and kill mechanic.
>>
>>381873568
>>381873368
Slapping in some shitty DLC skin doesnt make it john wick at all
>>
>>381873823
isn't most of that basically the same?
>>
Hotline Miami and Max Payne are the only true answers
>>
Superhot
>>
Deadbolt.
>>
>>381873943
The combat in John Wick is very fast and precise, with John using cover to avoid getting hit. Max Payne is a slow motion hail of gunfire where you're charging enemies in the open rather than taking them out quickly one by one.
>>
>>381873162
What game has you double-tapping enemies and twitch aiming while also being quite handsome?
>>
>>381873162
Splinter Cell Conviction gets very close.

Hotline Miami gets the "get in, murder everything along to flashy lights/music, get out" thing very well.

Call of Duty series kinda does it too (BLOPS2 for one)
>>
payday 2
>>
>>381874173
Alpha Protocol, pistol build.

I wish Brigade E5 had more cqc where rtwp with microsecond command precision really shines. Shotgun sniping across the open maps gets boring really fast.

>>

>>
>>381873162
Resident Evil 6 unironically
>>
>>381873436
It's really not that good. It's like a shitty hollywood reboot of Max Payne that tries to use the name to get recognition, but in the end it's just mediocre cover shooter with no real redeeming factors.
>>
>>381875137
Yo that shit was awful lmao I watched some shitty Youtube video about it and it was just hilariously bad

I don't understand how people fall for the VR meme. I mean for jerking off....MAYBE....MAYBE. But for any other type of media? It's just stupid. And honestly even for porn it seems pretty stupid unless you want someone to walk in on you being sweaty ass fucking, pounding away at your dick while your feet dangle in the air like a faggot.

Enemies in GTA IV can often become "down, but not out" and they can still shoot at you while bleeding out, so that you have to make sure they're dead.
>>

Its good for driving games and the like, flying games too.
>>

>>
>>381875496
>no redeeming factors
I agree that the story is pretty shit. But the gameplay (when not interrupted by unsnippable cutscenes) is pretty great animations and shooting mechanics are some of the best in the industry. And it's one of those few games where it's actually possible to go through a firefight without getting hit, because the enemies actually have to aim at you.
>>
>>381873162
Hotline Miami
>>
>>381875598
I agree with that, the gunplay was better than in any rockstar game so far. It should've never been just that though, it should've been like MP1 and 2. It felt so much more intuitive and fluid in those first two games.

no, they're mooks from a fairly small organized crime ring. most haven't even killed someone before, and those that have just executed unarmed someones after beating the shit out of them.

This.

SUPERHOT.
>>
>>381876787
This. There's a reason why John is elite and the rest are just regular mooks. Not to mention most of the encounters happen really quickly in close quarters where they can't really use their strenght in numbers. Someone on John's level however, like Cassian, is able to fight him to a standstill.

Does anyone else not understand why this movie got so popular? Don't fall for the memes. Watch Dogs is a legitimately fun and a good game. WD2 is also really fun and plays WAY differently to the first.

For the very same reason why people like DOOM. It's dumb and fucking brainless but god the action is amazing there.

I never got WD2 because it looked like a game that was meant to release in a world where Hillary won. The black protag "accused of a crime he didn't commit" reeked of BLM horseshit.
>>
>>381873162
is this series good or it's just a meme?
>>
>>381880432
It's a phenomenal two hour krav maga gun-kata fightathon but it doesn't uphold an ounce of realism or worthwhile dialogue

You can pirate it now. Leftist stuff never really bothered me but if you're easily triggered by the shit you won't like the game. I got pretty infuriated by Martin Shkreli mission, personally, and the way Ubisoft handled it in their twitter. It's just bad taste.
>>
>>381875976
What's the appeal of this shit? watched the first film and it's just an OP guy head shotting everyone with goons running towards him with guns half the time. There's 0 tension the whole film, it feels like a youtube stunt film dragged out for a whole film.

Yeah well if you played the game and expected a GTA clone then you're a moron. It's a game of it's own and is legitimately fun and has really good gunplay.

>>381880194
Well this shit only works if you go all guns blazing which many people didn't do. Watch Dogs 1 is a lot more about shooting than WD2 (never even used a gun there lmao).

>>381880282
Yeah, I wish they expanded upon the gunplay in WD2 but they literally decided to go noguns and made shooting garbage, even going as far as to remove these animations.

>>381880662

>>381880634
>>381880421
It has a lot of leftist shit but that aside, it's a good game. If you just manage to not be bothered by the obvious LGBT advertising. The main characters are a lot more Wikileaks and shit while initially they're kinda cringey, later they really grow on you.
>>
>>381876069
There is a previous scene in a tunnel that is far more realistic where he gets shot heaps

The art gallery is a shit scene for sure.
>>
>>381880661
Obviously you don't expect Wick to die in the middle of the movie, the same like you wouldn't expect John McClane to die in the middle of Die Hard. It's mostly famous for its incredibly well shot and choreographed gunplay scenes.
>>
Not the most popular game, but possibly the remake of Syndicate.

It had pretty quick gun play, if I remember right, and some interesting close-range finisher-type moves. I believe there are only a few of them, though. You can slide and shit as well, guns have 2 modes you can swap between which gives sort of a weapon-handling feel.

Not a perfect game but might give you somewhat of the feel youre looking for.

>>381880779
>Yep
I must watch it then.

>>381876787
>they're mooks from a fairly small organized crime ring. most haven't even killed someone before

This game quite literally has you murder gangs and Aiden even also gets a nickname which makes people afraid of him.
>>

> The plot is fucking stupid (they stole his car and shot his dog so he goes on a psychotic rampage)

did you fall asleep at the beginning or are you a pseudo intellectual retard trying to look smart?
the car was a gift from his wife, the dog also was a last gift from his wife, so he cherished them both. he just buried her and those fuckers come into his house, kill his dog in front of him (THE GIFT FROM HIS FUCKING DEAD WIFE) and steal his car
how do you fuckers miss such details, 'cause you're not the only retard, i've seen several other bringing the same stupid god damn argument

>>
>>381875976
Not as kino as RE: Vendetta
>>
>>381881109
Kinda, yeah

Still a good movie but a bit long and bloated. Should've kept the world-building subtle and implied like the first one.
>>
>>381881109

The second one certainly upped the ante.

It wasnt really ever a "secret assassin" thing, though. Most of the people in the first movie seemed to be aware of what was going on, almost everyone we saw was directly involved.

The police go to Johns house and ask if he is working again. Just some police officers.

I think with what we see in both movies we can assume this doesnt take place in a world like ours, plus a secret assassin society, but that it takes place in a secret assassin world, and there are people who are on the outside. Our view of the world is from the inside of the organization out, naturally we would see more of these people than if we were viewing it from another angle.
>>
>>381881109
>Did anybody else really dislike how suddenly literally everybody was involved in this secret assassin thing?
I thought it was absurd but in no way bad.
That world has its own fiction and adheres to it well.
>>
>>381881251
You can sorta play it slow by baiting enemies through doors by peeking out and letting them chase you into another room.

You can play it fast by just charging through the room spraying bullets and throwing everything you have hold of.
>>
>>381881109
>>381881231

For me personally the assassin bums were too much, after that I couldn't take the movie serious anymore.
>>
>>381873162
The Darkness
>John Wick with demonic powers
>>
>>381881109
It was pretty much the only thing I didn't like about it. But I admire the way it takes itself seriously. Like that it's set in a ridiculous universe, but doesn't quip around and tells a relatively serious story.
>>
>>381881345
>Just some police officers.
It's the same guy in both movies. He's probably attached to Wick, so that they don't have to tell every guy not to try arrest John Wick.
>>
>>381880797
John Mclane is trying to get out of situations more often than not and just spraying his gun not perfectly killing everyone and taking down multiple opponents perfectly with kung fu, it's boring, the choreography is far too blatantly obvious that there's no sense of a messy fight or situation, at least in other action films you feel like the protagonist is more outmatched or is really struggling at times.

I really like how John destroys the mute chick after she was hyped up the entire movie. I was already prepared for a scene where she kicks his ass and then to get away with it, but nope, it's not even close he just straight up overpowers and kills her.

Actually I think that Wick being an incredible superhuman operator is somewhat the appeal of the movies, it's entertaining to see him stylishly massacre everyone while Die Hard is entertaining in another way.

I honestly enjoyed it. I don't care about the story, O care about John Wick. If they want to escalate their secret assassin ring backstory to give him more people to kill, I say bring it on. I want another movie (as long as they keep that camera work and fight scene quality), and the only other way I could think John Wick would continue to kill people that much would be to suddenly be contracted to go kill Kim Jeong Un or something. I'd rather he kill the secret assassins who don't need to matter to matter.

The only reason why execute even exists in those games is that Ubisoft apparently wasn't allowed to make proper PC controls so the mouse control is a badly emulated analog input converter with game-breaking mouse acceleration. Right. Yet it's consistent in its ridiculous premise. Max Payne 1 is a borderline parody full of cardboard cutouts as well. Max Payne 3, however, is all over the place.

>>381886483
It had better technology but it was nowhere near as responsive. People have already torn MP3's story to shreds but what most overlook is that its gameplay hasn't really aged well either.

>Camera is consolized to over-the-shoulder garbage
Look at this MP2 screenshot. Can you see how little space Max actually takes in comparison to RE4 style over-the-shoulder view? This camera placement is extremely important for a PC TPS with responsive control scheme. Literally every single PC native third person game (like Rune or American McGee's Alice) had had similar camera in the past. It's in the best position to use mouselook and it's in the best position for the non-stop frantic action, which is how Max Payne is supposed to play like. Compare it to Max Payne 3 where Max's model often effectively obscures something like a third of the screen.
PC TPS and console TPS have completely different roots. I can't say there's anything wrong with console view per se but OTS view together with gamepad controls are best suited for cover shooting which Max Payne is not. Which brings me to my next point.

cont.
>>
>>381888494
>It doesn't understand what it's supposed to play like
In Max Payne you got bullettime for killing enemies. In Max Payne 2 your bullettime also regenerated by itself. In Max Payne 3 your bullettime is replenished by killing enemies... while not using bullettime or shootdodging. In addition, your bullettime meter is depleted extremely quickly. What that means is in theory the most efficient way to play the game would be hiding behind cover with small bullettime bursts when you have to move out of it which together with OTS view makes the most sense for a console shooter. Except AI becomes extremely aggressive when you hide behind cover AND you have infinite shootdodges, therefore in practice you're going to be shootdodging all over the place while almost forgetting about bullettime (because you can't replenish it while shootdodging and it goes down extremely quickly anyway).
This means you have a game that has the best setup for a cover-based console shooter but it plays best like a fast-paced PC game. It's like driving with your feet, especially since the gameplay has another major flaw.

>The fucking animations
Max Payne 3's animations look cool, there's no doubt about it. It's nice to look at them. And it's not nice to actually play with them because literally everything TAKES TOO LONG. It's a video game. What's the most important thing about a video game? It has to control well. Max Payne and Max Payne 2 do, they're extremely responsive. Max Payne 3 does not because everything you do has a slight delay. Yeah, it's nice to see that Max has to actually aim the gun with a realistic speed instead of sick 360 noscopes and it's very nice to see how he has to juggle the weapons around if he has a large one but it's not nice to actually play. It's unresponsive.

cont.
>>
>>381888532
You're also likely to spend most of the game shootdodging. The fact that aiming speed is tied to Max's turning speed is annoying enough but the more annoying part is the fact that shootdodge stops once you hit something. I mean, it's realistic and everything, but it's a video game. You often have shootouts in close quarters, and this feature brings the pace down to a slog more often than not.

Max Payne 3 hasn't aged well at all is what I'm trying to say here. It might look cool but it plays like shit. The gameplay is all over the place, just like the story.
>>
>>381888532
Actually, bullet time in MP3 is gained by hitting enemies not killing them. This allows the bulletime to be usefull if you can hit multiple times on the same enemy.

For some reason most people disagree with me on this. I can't for the life of me understand how someone can defend a system that has a flaw that requires a manual workaround for the player to use, over a system that doesn't have that flaw and needs no workaround.

The only argument I've heard that makes sense and only within the context of the multiplayer of one game is The Last of Us. Over-the shoulder gives situational advantages to rounding corners, which apparently discourages camping and removes 3rd person exploitation stalemates where both sides can see each other and won't attack.

Yeah the level designer for MP1 gave a presentation about it in my university in 2010. The funny thing is that before he showed those illustrations about a MP1 level and the same room with realistic proportions, he asked the audience who had noticed the weird proportions, and no one had. 3rd person camera distorts quite a lot because it's an entirely different type of spatial awareness, and only if you already know the levels had to be augmented according to that will you immediately notice the deliberate distortion of proportions.

3's my least favourite too but there's some shenanigans going on in that image. 1&2's camera WAS slightly off center, and didn't allow you to switch sides. 3's is only very rarely as off center as in that image. It's also usually about the same distance from Max as in 1&2, but it pulls in closer more often because the levels are more cramped. It also always registers the shot for you if the crosshair's over the enemy, even if Max doesn't actually have line of sight.

>It also always registers the shot for you if the crosshair's over the enemy, even if Max doesn't actually have line of sight.

I specifically made that screenshot because it doesn't. Max is aiming his gun at the enemy on the other side of the wall, and should be perfectly capable of hittin them, but the bullet hit raycast is actually projected onto what the crosshair is actually pointing at, ie. The wall. Even though Max's gun is literally pointing at the enemy, the player's crosshair isn't. It's like a weird reversal of the Half-Life "rocket to the face" syndrome where you blow yourself up by shooting a rocket at the wall to your right because the gun it pointing at the wall while its laser sight is aiming past it.

(I went to the SC wiki and there does not xist a complete release of the game anywhere. XBOX had the best graphics engine, PS2 had entire campaign missions that were cut from there, PC had like longer levels or something, real shame since SC1 is a classic in the Genre, undeniable.

Also the PS3 port was done by third-worlders and so the entire Trophy system is busted. I raged when I beat the game on Hard with less than 3 kills, no health kits, no deaths and no Alarms and received none of the trophies.

because of the busted nature, it is my opinion that the Splinter Cell HD collection is the world heavyweight champion of pleb filter platinums. makes MGS4 seem like a fucking joke, and MGS2 seem like just a tedious grind.

If you make a mistake, to my knowledge, you have to delete your entire game install and save data. Even save scumming will not help. H A R D C O R E

It gets a bad rep because it wasn't very "splinter cell." Few cool gadgets (I actually hate how Blacklist kept the "thrown gadgets" from Conviction when they only reason he threw gadgets then was because he didn't have the rifle), no nuanced stealth, etc. Like you said the co-op was a better experience but that's because you were again doing stealth stuff, plus co-op stealth is generally always fun.

I liked it as a game but not as SC. Blacklist did it much better.

I see what you're getting at, Max has the shot, but the camera's behind the bulletproof glass, so it doesn't hit. But in other situations where the cam has the shot, but Max doesn't, it does hit. Isn't that better for a thirdperson game, giving that you're aiming with the camera and not Max's arm?

Camera was the least of my problems with 3.

I did save scum now and then (when i played it on PS2) but mostly because i failed a stealth section. I was a bit austic - Still is - On being able to do shit without being discovered. I don't like killing. And often i succeeded too. I have to say Pandora Tomorrow is probably my favorite splinter cell, i don't really have the same relationship to Chaos Theory. Though i quite liked it. The train lvl in PT was GOAT and cozy as fuck.

As for talking about ports. I completed double agent on PC and on PS2. I actually quite enjoyed double agent on PS2, it felt like a Chaos Theory 2.0 of some sorts.
>>
>>381891830
Perhaps, to a degree. But it was to protect his daughter. Lambert hated himself for what he did. But it was to protect her and the nation and indeed Sam himself. The maule was of course never uncovered before it was too late.

Yeah, and honestly I would have liked Blacklist all the more if Sam wasn't the main character. That way we might have been able to have Michael Ironside stay Sam and have this new guy be the main character. We know there are other Splinter Cells out there so there's no reason why we can't play as someone new other than a lack of creativity.
>>
>>381891836
Yeah I recently picked up DA on PS3 for like 2 bucks or something on sale? Not in a rush to play it because I am a trophy whore but I will give it a go after I beat Chaos Theory. DA is another one that has a bunch of different releases. I've heard conflicting things about which version is the best.

I loved MGS and Tenchu back in the day but just never played Splinter Cell when it was new. I used to play SOCOM though, they had some decent stealth campaigns.
>>
>>381892108
Yeah, they could have at least made Sam the new Commanding Officer or something. It would have been cool having Sam give you intel and giving you his little spin on what they data meant.
>>
>>381892171
People seem to suggest that the Xbox/previous gen version was better but I never played it. It had a more coherent story from what I've heard.
>>
>>381892108
Honestly, I don't think Ironside wanted to do more anyway, it probably had nothing to do with motion capture. Ironside comes off as a guy who probably thinks vidya is silly and for kids, not to mention Sam was already getting more and more angry and brutal in Conviction, which Ironside was averse to. He opted out when he wasn't bound by the contract anymore.
>>
>>381892108
Its just taht they made sam a leader as Lambert but also an operative. I suppose we could argue that Sam realized there was really no retiring from it. And now with his daughter back, with the terrorist attacks going on he wanted to keep her safe. That became his main objective. So after the blacklist attacks it is possible he returns to a less operative role. You even play as the black guy in the last mission. His VA wasn't that bad either but didn't fit the more old Sam.
>>381892171
I didn't play the games when they were so very new, but fairly after release AFAIK. DA for PS3 you say, is that the old or next gen version? You should play both. Since "old gen" DA is basically like a chaos theory 2.0 as i mentioned.

There's some official videos where Ironside was helping on Blacklist or at least giving his input about the new guy so I don't think he's sick of the series. I think it's reasonable to believe the motion capture stories because it does make sense that you can't have a guy in Ironside's shape do what Sam does.

>>381892385
Yeah I didn't have a problem with the new VA (though as someone else said he sounds generic as fuck) his voice just doesn't fit a guy of Sam's sage.

He actually sounds like what Ironside might have sounded like in his 20s.
>>
>>381892385
DA PS3 is the same as the 360 version I'm pretty sure. I'd have to scare up a PS2 to play the other one. Haven't had one in years.

Speaking of Lambert, in PT he is voiced by the black guy from those Allstate commercials and his delivery is ASMR tier. He does these light inhales every few words, its very soothing.

Was it some fairly old (Early 2000s) game about the SAS?

Or are you talking about Payday where the cops go, "Double tap, triple, tap, just keep tapping!" as one of their voice lines.
>>
>>381892717
Yeah, i kinda like his VA in PT. You can try emulating double agent on the PS2 emulator. I was able to play it for a bit, but didn't continue. They are separate games as you know, but i think the double agent version on PS2 fits more.

>>381892679
Yeah, still his character had gray hair and indeed he is probably still the same age and as fit as he was it's not unreasonable he could still do the same things. Ironside probably would return to Sam. There was this rumor he was spotted near ubisoft VA offices or something like that. Unsure. I think ubisoft said they aren't done with splinter cell.
>>
>>381892108
I'm probably in the minority, but I wouldn't mind Sam being sort of a legacy character, like Lara Croft. I do wish that they'd work on giving him a better personality whenever the next game comes out.
>>
>>381892946
I'm not surprised that they aren't done with Splinter Cell considering how well received Blacklist was. It's probably their second or third best franchise depending how much you like Far Cry.
>>
>>381892807
>Or are you talking about Payday where the cops go, "Double tap, triple, tap, just keep tapping!" as one of their voice lines.
Definitely not.

>Was it some fairly old (Early 2000s) game about the SAS?
Could be. I just very bleakly remember a game where I was double tapping but I absolutely cannot tell what game that was. I just can't remember. I also think it was 3rd person (and there was not much ammo) but again I barely remember that.
>>
>>381893028
I wouldn't necessarily mind him being like Lara but since the game is set in the "real world" it's getting a little ridiculous that he's still doing what he's doing considering he's retired or seriously considered retiring 2 or 3 times in the series. He's gotta be close to 50 by now, if not mid 50s.
>>
>>381893112
Yeah. And blacklist was pretty good, and the last mission was "splinter cell 1-3" tier good. All in all it was a very decent game. That FPS section some like to meme about was very short anyway.
>>
>>381892946
Sam looked like a prematurely grey late-30s dude to me. Definitely younger, but people are exaggerating how young he looked. His VA is like 40 also.
>>
>>381893357
Some people age quite well. Sam was 55 years old in blacklist.
>>
>>381893112
The french manlet told they're working on Clancy titles, including Splinter Cell. But Ubisoft went full retard with the release date for Blacklist - they released the game on current gen, despite the fact that next gen was already around the corner, and did it when people only gave a shit about GTA V. Then they saw it didn't sell 5 million copies and deemed it a flop.
>>
>>381893270
Yeah the FPS section was definitely the low point and as far as I can tell the only reason they added it was so that people playing spies vs mercs would be a little experienced with the merc style gameplay. Stupid reason to have it in there but just a blemish on an otherwise great experience.

The only problem with OTS Third Person is if they don't let you switch shoulders, just include a button that lets switch which shoulder you're using (and animations for your character left handing their weapons), and you're golden.
>>
>>381893493
Well, they haven't officially de-aged him or anything, but since they haven't really mentioned anything in the last few games about him being in his 50s yet in the shape of Batman, I figured that Ubisoft is giving this situation the "stay silent and hope it goes away" treatment.
>>

>Then they saw it didn't sell 5 million copies and deemed it a flop.
They didn't give up on Assassin's Creed after all its poor performances so I'm hoping SC gets another shot.

But really the cost of making video games is getting out of hand.

you're a bitch if you played max payne 3 with cover. Slow mo and playing it risky as fuck was even more encouraged as the game went on, as the more intelligent enemies would grenade you, rush you from both sides, and other tactics like break apart the cover you're behind by relentlessly shooting at it (some cover this happened to)

take off the fucking nostalgia goggles for 1 and 2, yes narrativly they beat the shit out of 3, but gameplay wise? Those old as animations, lack of solid physics, no euphoria engine driving all of those beautiful physics based stagger and stumble animations, fuck off. 3 feels like a dream to play. My point is that when there's no OTS, there's no problem, ergo a problem needs to solution. One of my favorite 3ps games is Jedi Knight 1, and I don't recall ever having camera problems with its 3rd person mode.

I admit, that game has few really cramped spaces, but when you want to depict a realistic location with no distorted proportions, there's a solution to that as well. Go first person. That's what Resident Evil 7 did. They wanted a game that plays like RE1 Remake but with better controls and a realistic setting where the levels are not compromised for the sake of camera angles.

It was never shown to be some elite 'lol dere only 10 of us!' club. There is an entire hotel for them, there's an exclusive underground club for them and Johns worked with a lot of them before.

You're whining about nothing and apparently paid no attention to the first film m8, don't know what to tell you.
>>
>>381902471
Yes, but clearing out Central Park in the middle of the day, putting about 50 assassins there for no reason other than intimidate Wick (who apparently have nothing better to do) screams of unnecessary comic book showboating. It was a cool shot and all, but I preferred when they were operating in the shadows, made it seem more real I guess.

I may give you this one.

QoS is easily the worst Bond film though. How anyone can think Spectre is worse than Skyfall and QoS is beyond me. Spectre had better action scenes than the former, and a better story than the latter.

>That award goes to Skyfall, not Spectre. It's like you went into a coma during the train scene
The train scene in Spectre is the only action scene on par with anything in Skyfall. The action in Spectre is by the books, without stakes, Bond mostly fucks people up effortlessly, the car chase scene in Rome alone is dreadful.
>maybe, not really that much of a problem though
It's visually a lot more dull than Skyfall and visuals are really important for a Bond movie.
>wouldn't this make Skyfall the worst one?
No, Skyfall did it quite well, there's no need to repeat that theme with cringe as fuck Moriarty.
>actually a lot longer. stop using hyperbole
Regardless of whether he was in there for 15 or 20 minutes, his impact was very minimal apart from the first introduction scene.
>I don't know what problem you have with this line but it doesn't ruin anything, you're nitpicking at this point
Not the line, but his entire motivation, not only is it cheap as fuck, it actually weakens the rest of the Craig era villains since they all were connected to Blofeld.
>this goes for every Bond film ever made you troglodyte
Except for the best Bond film ever, Casino Royale.

Skyfall wasn't perfect, but at least it had a heart and it seemed like the people working on it actually gave a shit. Spectre was more like "eh, we need to make another one again, let's just go by the book on this one".

I feel the 3rd one has the biggest chance of being shitty. The 1st and second are no doubt awesome but I feel like unless they already have it planned out (which from interviews, behind the scenes stuff etc, I don't think that is the case) they sort of wrote themselves into a corner.

I mean they already did the him fighting multiple assassins thing with 2, if they just decide to do more of that, I suppose it could be alright but when does it end? Just him on the run killing of every assassin known to man? Would be kind of lame I feel.
They need some twist or some crazy shit to happen where he has a goal aside from "Kill everyone"

Yes, as I said before, that's the problem. With OTS camera you have the necessity of switching shoulders. With classic 3rd person you don't. You have one type of design that causes a constant problem that requires a manual temporary fix, and another one that doesn't.

Imagine if there were two different versions of D44M. One which has very inaccurate weapons and you need to manually aim down sights to hit anything, and another version that actually plays like Doom. Max Payne 3 is the former. Max Payne 1 is the latter. The change to OTS 3rd person created a problem that didn't use to exist.

>>
>>381912130
All you "OMG EVERYONE IS ASSASSINS NAO" people still have yet to coherently explain what the problem is with it showing/having more assassins.

It's already implied in the first one, god forbid the movie expands on it in a SEQUEL. Saying everyone and their mom is an assassin not only is a gross exaggeration, it's not even remotely true and shows those people paid no actual attention to the fucking films.

It was always implied it was an organization, not 5 dudes living by a code with their own fucking currency.
>>
>>381909875
In New York it is.

Yes that's him.
>>
>>381911759
There's a difference between expanding an interesting world and creating a good plot around it, and making what already a simple world unnecessarily complex and ambiguous just for the sake's of it and making the plot completely revolves around it.

Chapter 2 felt to the same trap where the writers thought that telling the world too much = better. The first movie is just about a guy who got his dog murdered and his car stolen, and he turns out to be a total badass. Theres's a secret society shenanigans, but it doesn't matter. What matters is John fucking Wick is cool and he kills people in a cool way. The plot of 1 is braindead simple that it wholly carried by the actions.

The second movie tells too much about these society that it just losing the magical and mysterious aspect of it. What was supposed to be a "small group of talented assassins" to a "we are illuminati and sheit". Less is more, we don't need to know all this shit yet they did told us.

If John Wick 1 was Alien, then John Wick 2 is almost like Prometheus.

>unnecessarily complex

There was a reason for everything that was expanded on in JW2, so I don't know what you're talking about by unnecessary. And it's only "complex" if you're in the 5th grade.

>magical and mysterious aspect of it

It's not "magical" and yes, while the first left a lot to the open air, your criticizing a sequel for expanding on their established world? Okay. You just wanted John to continue to be a supa cool slick killer dude while the assassin part of the movie about an assassin dragged back into a world he once lived in is brushed off because you think it's "too much".

> What was supposed to be a "small group of talented assassins"

This is never said anywhere. There is an entire fucking currency and creed they swear by, and you just though it was a little group of assassins? Adorable.

>"we are illuminati and sheit"

They are assassins who happen to have cellphones that can receive messages. Woah, so illuminati like!

>we don't need to know all this shit

We did for Chapter 2, since the plot was explicitly focused on a villain who called out a hit on an assassin using other assassins, and shows John isn't a completely infallible one man killing machine and has to actually get help.

>John Wick 2 is almost like Prometheus.

John Wick 2 is no where even close to ass shitty as that movie. I mean but hey, if adding more to the character, while introducing new ones and fleshing out a world more to you is an example of a bad sequel, that's fine. Forgive me for thinking you're rather dense.
