I liked 2's gameplay more and I liked how they seemed to add more shit to the game, but 1 did have a better story and setting. 2 is also a lot harder for some reason.

Fallout is just not a good franchise.
It only got big because the mix of 50s and post-apocolyptia combined with their recent hit, Oblivion.
Casuals were unironically sold by 'oblivion with guns'
So, old Fallout games were some old ass PC games which aged poorly and had rather poor features even for it's time (terrible inventory management, shallow turn based combat (get close to get your hit percentage up, aim for the eyes), shit AI especially for your allies), while new Fallout games are just dumbed down mass appeal.

Honestly, the time constraints aren't really a problem if you play the game with a very, very mild sense of urgency.

It still gives you more than enough time since FO1 doesn't have as much backtracking as FO2. Also iirc once you complete the water chip part of the game you don't have time constraints anymore

You can't be this bad at Fallout 2. Unlike Morroshit, even if you have low agility you can still hit things. Like I had a char with 1 luck and no strength and very little agility and was still able to hit things without getting annoyed like combat in other certain games where it's literally *miss**miss**miss* if you have shit stats. How Spoony was able to die so much - even while running away - is beyond me.

I never got people who thought the original Fallout combat was too hard. Just pump up agility, tag the skill of whatever weapon you're using, get perks that increase AP, and aim for the eyes. Open inventory often to use stimpaks. If the fight is too hard just run away.

It's literally easier than the newer games if you actually know what you're doing.
