When Flynn took over he had to DESPERATELY try to control a universe with over a hundred original characters and failed miserably. Then he did shit like Mobius 20 Years Later, which was fucking awful. He scrambled to kill off people but it wasn't enough. Then came the orders from the boss: the Super Genesis Wave. Any hope of concluding the jumbled mess in a slightly okay resolution was lost. Mind you, I read Lost Hedgehog Tales Part 1 and it was terrible, so I probably wouldn't have had high hopes for him.
Then he got a sterilized universe with focus on game and SatAM characters, with a few OCs to liven things up but only when necessary. But he still couldn't tell a good story. The Unleashed arc has been nothing short of mediocre, with the highlight being the saga focused around EGGMAN. The one who's going to LOSE. He just wrote a bunch of stories to try to get all the characters involved and just said "eh I'll expand on this later cause I gotta focus on the overarching plot", not realizing that he wasn't focusing on the overarching plot by including this stuff. It built some characters, sure, but not by much.
I could go on about the characters but by now you should get my point: Flynn is overrated.

So I know a lot of people like the more tame stories of Colors and Generations and such, but if Sega could get a couple of writers who could tell a decent story, would any of yall be down for that? I've always been a fan of the Batshit stories of SA1 and SA2, and I know they weren't the best written or executed, but I think there's definitely more entertainment to be found in their batshit crazy ass stories than there is to be found in Lost world, Colors, or Generations.
