Dropped Persona 5

I bought it like two days after the release date and I'm barely past the scene at the beach with Futaba.

as in only unlocked it or already fought Shido? If the latter, there isn't much left anyway. Only gettign to the top of Tartarus 2.0 and fighting Izanami 2.0

Honestly, gameplay aside, it just doesn't click with me. I've been into Persona since 2011 and I haven't grown tired of either P3 or P4, but I'm already sick of P5 for some reason.

Pretty much the opposite for me. It's the first Persona I've managed to finish. Definitely had to push through the slog at the end, but that was opposed to hitting the slog like a month into 3 and 4.

I'm still within Shido's place, came to a stopping point just after running into the armed guards. As for other Persona games, I don't have much experience with them as I'm more inclined towards SMT.

I pushed my way through it because I was sick of having to unsuccessfully tiptoe around spoilers online. It does seriously drag at times, but I feel it was worth the trouble to see it through to the end.

Anything is better than recycling the same character archetypes.
Hell most of the other confidants would make for more interesting party members.

I was a bit disappointed to find out the demons were actually shadows that they fought in an alternate reality and the guns were just models.

I actually thought that the middle part was the weakest (everything from Makoto joining until the start of Sae's palace). By the time I got towards the end I was getting more and more hyped. I guess I was also moving faster because I'd fused strong enough personas by that point to just rush though dungeons without much worry, but I do think the narrative really picks up at the end of Shido's palace.

Plus the ending is extremely dope, though a little cliche.

Adults are ironically best characters in the game. Of all my teammates i liked only Yusuke, this cute autistic child.

Same thing happened with me OP, beat it today.
Game drags like hell at the end, and I clocked out at 120 hours.
Still, the ending had me elated, and it was everything I really wanted.

Plot-wise the game peaks too early with Kamoshida making pretty much everyone until Sae boring filler.
Also this could just be me with all the SMT I've played, but the quality of life improvements makes the game waay too easy
