unless you want 4k it's not really necessary to have a 80 to enjoy games at max settings, for a lot of games probably even 144hz, at 1080.

if you're willing to pay a little more a 70 series is practically 80-85% power for half the cost.

If you want to upgrade your CPU, you'll usually need a new motherboard with a new CPU socket (the "port" that your CPU plugs into.)

You can upgrade to a better CPU as long as it goes into the same socket as your old CPU, but if your CPU is old enough to need upgrading, then the socket and all of its associated CPUs are probably already phased out and you won't get much of an upgrade out of the whole deal.

Not true at all.

With a pentium you could at least have an upgrade path, if you get an FX cpu you are getting shittier performance, and being locked into an obsolete ecosystem.

Drop the 6900k for a 7700k, 32gb for 16gb, expensive ass case for something from around $50-100 (you don't need a full tower), SSD for an HDD (a good 4tb drive will set you back around $100 for example), drop the expensive ass motherboard for something in the $100-200 range.

You probably don't need a 1050w PSU, and you can install Windows 10 from a USB stick (download is from Microsoft's website) and then use a tool to activate it for free (google Microsoft Toolkit)

You are building a gaming PC, not a server or a machine for professional rendering.

>Not stating anything about the x264 preset and resolution streamed

Yeah, I'm sure amazed at my 7700k corelet being able to stream Dota2 in 1280x720 using x264 superfast, what a surprise!

>All the eight-core CPUs did well, but the 7700K took a significant hit to performance by as much as 18FPS with OBS active. Ryzen did well, only dropping 3FPS while streaming

Not to mention that Dota has been patched shortly after that review.

Kill yourself, tech illiterate.

Well I got mine on deep sale for ~$400, also the Freesyncs are always cheaper, I can understand being hesitant to buy one at the retail price. I play all genres of games, but I spend the most time on FPS and those are absolutely where you gain the most out of 144hz. If you already have a regular 1440p IPS I don't really have any suggestions to give beyond that

even though you're entire knowledge of PC components could be restricted to shitposting, would it be worth it to upgrade to any of the following in order to avoid upgrading the motherboard?

I'm pretty sure the majority of those Korean 1440p panels can get decent overclock on their refresh rate, you should look into it you might be able to get it up to 90hz or so

Intel's 6 core looks terrible, you might need to shell at least $200-300 on a motherboard, since Intel though it would be a good idea to merge their HEDT i9s chips with the higher i7s and i5s

I'm looking to get a two monitor set up, but I know it can be complicated. I'm looking to get a monitor with a pivot for schmups, and another for standard stuff.

Also, I hate to ask, but when it comes to ram, should I go for pic related?
And as for motherboard, I'm looking for a cheaper one, but each one I've tried so far says there's conflicting issues. Is that common? Or is it something I have to look into?
