Real talk the game is pretty bad. It had some potential in the beta days but they fucked it up so hard. It's best watched, not played.

Outside of some character design and animation though, skullgirls ain't all that great. GG is a fightan that I'd say is better.

Tekken, especially Revolution and 7.

Resets should not dominate any fighting game's meta. They're supposed to be special circumstances, but they take up more time in Skullgirls than the neutral game does.

Let's make a fighting game where you can cancel moves into other moves really easily and there's assists and tons of air mobility, as well as tons of hitstun on everything and most things are ridiculously + on block or hit!

Not EXACTLY one combo, but it's close. There's an infinite prevention system and notable damage scaling when combos get too long. The way to maintain big damage is through these almost-imperceptible resets that reset the damage scaling and let you go through the process all over again. If you don't know what you're looking for, it's going to look like a touch-of-death combo.
