Totally worth picking it up on xbone, SOTFS has a pretty healthy community on it, surprisingly. Not sure about PC, but my experience with dks1 was less than stellar so I'd say just cause of that, i'd go for a modern gen console release, the hackers on 360 and PS3 were insane.

You don't even have to kill this boss, you know. I didn't even know it existed the first time I completed the game. This is one of the worst and most forgettable areas in the whole game, by the way.

It's been a while, but I recall I took out one of the rats from long distance then baited the others to get close so I could take them out together with a greatsword. Then it's just a matter of dancing under the big guy's feet. It's an optional boss so you can come back when you're leveled up. If you're already at end game level you'll just have to git gud.

Here's the thing.

The boss isn't even the hardest part, I'm not kidding.

It's the four little shits he has with him. This boss's attack is purely physical damage, and has a very long cool down between them.

You can quite literally block all of his attacks. His attack windup is so long that you can get enough stamina back to block the next one.

Its sad that DS2 had the overwhelming amount of sub-par bosses. When it also had some of the best.

Dark Souls 2 is an objectively better game than the Surge just for build customization and content alone.

Nioh is a toss up but SoTFS edges it out for better enemy diversity and DLC.
