No. Dragon's Dogma is a game that's wholly lacking on all fronts. Most can admit the story, characters, and world are uninspired and uninteresting, leaning on the "stellar gameplay" as reasons for its praise. But the gameplay itself is shallow, masquerading as an action RPG that requires player mastery to improve, when in reality it offers combat that in many ways is a simpler, flashier Skyrim, without any of that games' strengths to carry it.

It's amazing, the music is good. It's really different from most popular medieval fantasy rpg.
I would describe it like a merge from a soul game, a tes game and a monster hunter game.

Loved it. The game is fairly easy, but it's really fun just smashing your enemies faces in with a huge sword.

World is completely boring and soulless, story is retarded, and the pawn chatter gets face-on-keyboard levels of obnoxiously repetitive.

BUT the combat is fucking phenomenal, and the feel of adventuring and exploring is superb. Also it has some of the best usage of light and darkness in any game ever.

Having to use a lantern to explore dank caves and crypts actually makes it feel like you're legitimately exploring dank caves and crypts. Then factor in things like environmental considerations (your lantern will go out if it gets wet, etc) make it feel like one of the best adventure games ever.


...but the world is still boring as fuck, the story is retarded, and the pawns are obnoxious.

I really like it, but it does feel half-realized. The level system is kinda retarded. It can drag a bit in it's pacing. BBI is kinda fun if you really want to farm for the best gear.

Really fun, but it's very rough around the edges. The term "flawed masterpiece" fits Dark Arisen pretty well.

The only thing i liked about it when i played it was fighting giant monsters, which is the point of the game(probably), unfortunately everything else is dull and boring, at least as far as i played(which wasn't far into the game at all) my gameplay mostly consisted of running from point A to point B fighting random dogs and bandits on the way that posed no challenge or fun at all.

bought DD:DA in 2013 on PS3, probably gonna get the the PS4 release. I only have an Asus laptop so I don't think I can run the Steam version.

I have a fighter pawn and I went Strider and will probably go into Assassin, but now I'm hearing assassin got nerfed.

Did I make a mistake?

Its a good B game. people love it for its potential. sadly we will never see it realized in a sequel. Also if you like D&D art, you gonna love this shit.

The dragons dogma enb series, resonant or vanilla enhance enb are the best imo.Go on nexus and get the grand soren texture overhaul and the mod pack(has nude textures but they look better)
