What needs to happen is for classic Mario-style Donkey Kong to be re-integrated back into Mario, while Country can continue to grow into more of its own thing. Donkey Kong Jr as Mario's friend that's also loyal to his dad, and Donkey Kong as the angry, impulsive troublemaker that doesn't really have a bad heart. I'm hoping that version of Donkey Kong is in Mario Odyssey, but I'm expecting the Donkey Kong Country version.
