Don't be daft. Nuts.wad is just a slaughtermap, one of the more braindead of maps.

As much shit as brutal doom gets it changed the game in several ways. Made things more hectic, dangerous and fast paced.

Not a mod, but Ancient Aliens is one of the best map sets I've played lately.

Nothing to accept, Project brutality is better in every way except kill animations and needless lighting effects.

Brutal doom got the attention it did because it was the first properly organised community driven "enhancement" mod and it's been going for a long time.

Not with how unbalanced it is on a majority of maps not specifically designed for it and how it's chock full of spaghetti code.

It's a decent gamplay mod among many others. That's it.

DemonSteele is really fun, basically Devil May Cry in first person in the Doom Engine. A recent mod that adds slowmo kind of makes it feel like a katana run of SuperHot too.

MetaDoom is popular in the community at the moment too, and that adds something from every piece of Doom media there is into one glorious mess that somehow works and looks good. Including the silly shit from the RPG like the holy waterpistol and the ability to catch possessed dogs and use them as melee weapons.

I really like Final Doomer.
If you select the standard Doom weapon set it changes nothing other than the feel and sound of the guns, but it makes them so satisfying to fire. Combined with a good gore mod it allows you to have a close to vanilla experience only with more satisfying demon slaughter.

I dislike the TNT and Plutonia sets it has honestly, I use it more as a SmoothDoom replacement.
