No. I enjoyed Skyrim with 100+ mods and still play it sometimes today but F4 is just shit. In Skyrim if you wonder around you can find some stuff and get quests or just end up at another city. In Fallout 4 there is only one city and most of it is dogshit. Only two small zones in the city are little towns. Literally every area in the game outside of those two little towns is just: retards, mutants, raiders lol. So fucking boring.

Nah, it's great. It's got a steep learning curve but most people are expecting Overwatch/CoD or BF1 gameplay. The hydration/food thing feels tacked on as fuck, reloading doesn't really matter, there's just not that much exciting about it. The combat is better than Fallout 3 but then Fallout 4 is even better, amazingly. All that shit made it into Fallout 4 so it's better right?

What mods are good? Do they work with multiplayer? My friends and I really hated that they removed the ability to trade technologies in Civ5, because it lead to all kinds of shenanigans, but the mod that adds in a bunch of Civ4 stuff causes the game to desync frequently unless barbarians are turned off.

You are right, you don't "get" the hype, because you're talking about the fucking combat and gameplay mechanics. The "hype" behind New Vegas is generally the story, the setting and the choices, though, the perks and other gameplay systems are a lot better than Fallout 3.

One of the coolest parts of New Vegas is that during dialogue there are fuck tons of random ass skill checks, all with hilarious answers if you don't meet them. Like the quest where you have to help a shitty platoon of NCR guys git gud and you can finish it like 4 ways dependent on where your skills are.
>If you have high guns and explosives, you can teach them to shoot better.
>If you have high science, you can just hack their grades higher.
>If you have high speech you can convince them to work together better.
>If you have none of those skills, just buy them a bunch of drugs and roid them up.

And the game is full of shit like that. Plus, the setting (New Vegas and the Mohave Desert) makes a lot more sense than Fallout 3's. There are details in it's world that lend it to be more believable than Fallout 3. You can't break the entire games logic and main premise by asking, "Where do they get their food?" or, "Why do they need a water purifier if Mr. Handy hands out water for free"

I actually can't disagree with you on this. I don't think there is any way the developers can fix these issues though. It's the community that makes or breaks a sandbox game, and unfortunately, a bunch streamers and youtubers decided to make tons of videos of them getting "SICK HEADSHOTS ON N00BZ" and "EPIC 100 V 100 CLAN FIGHT" videos, so the player base decided that was obviously the way to play the game.

I also think that as far as the three nu-Fallouts go, NV does the best at letting you build a character. Fallout 3 you have a dad and in Fallout 4 you're a voiced person and conversations take place in the 3rd person. it's horrible even before you realize there's no real choices either.
