A lot of games seem to make use of the three buttons underneath. Few make use of drawing on it.
Gravity Rush 2 has you switching between forms by swiping up, down and left iirc.

They need to bring this back and stock it everywhere. The new one needed to borrow more ideas from it. The top panel of the slim should have been a glossier gold, while the bottom layer of the slim should have been black. The controller needed to outright copy the taco bell gold controller, the black undergrip on the taco bell version creates a nice contrast the new gold slim version lacks.

Not really, it's usually just a button or two. They could at least start adding some extra options like 3rd or 4th button on it, thought not sure how well that'd work because of the size of the touch pad.

Most functions the middle button serves are either old start or select button functions. You notice the Share button is just a useless button where the select button SHOULD be right? So the touch pad gets all the select button functions.
