Beseria sucked pretty bad. The entire point of taking on red hunts and defeating post game characters was for a greater chance at high level stats on gear. The problem is that gear doesn't carry over into New Game+, so there is no incentives to farm it (which I did for days).

The script is incredibly tight and thematically consistent, the character interaction/banter is constantly good and the characters are developed through these and there is absolutely no character who feel "wasted", the narrative in general is consistent from the beginning to the end.

I got through the game by just fighting what bumps into me, and the optional bosses. Any bossfight that felt balls to the wall ridiculous got better by rethinking character tactics and loadouts (ie if you are getting assraped by spellcaster spam, magilou can hard counter it).

The playstyle variety is pretty good too, since each character has their own unique soul bursts on top of their artes. Eizen punishes stunned opponents, Rokurou is a parry/counter master, Magilou is a magic sponge/mirror, Eleanor can do aerial setups, and Velvet just causes general anal devastation.

Mostly a feeling of progress honestly. I like seeing my characters grow and develop, both in combat through experience and equipment and story wise through development. Also rpgs naturally are a good genre for creating a fantasy world, which I love exploring.
