>Homeworld: Emergence was originally released as "Homeworld: Cataclysm". "Cataclysm" is now a registered trademark of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc., and the game has been renamed to avoid confusion. Other than the subtitle change, the game is identical to the game released in 2000.
Trademarks are retarded.
Also what are some good Starsector mods? Keen to check it out again as I heard it got a huge update a little while ago.
>>381775853
Been modding SoaSE Rebellion to unfuck multiplayer balance a bit and change some abilities so AI can use them better.
Ankylon titan with flak weapon unlocked on broadsides is like the 1812 Overture if it had cannon fire all the way through.
Here's a download for Sword of the Stars 1, easily one of my favourite space games ever.

>>381775853
As a hipster, I play this gritty, realistic game with shit gameplay. It's boring, but delivers my ego to newer heights.
>>381775853
waiting for X4ITS COMING!
also im maybe going to try Dual Universe to ease the wait for X4, Dual Universe is coming out in 3 months.
>>381778593
looks fun, gaem?
>>381778593
looks like KSP with combat mechanics, do you launch ships from a planet or do they just appear in orbit? How easy is it to build shit? the ship builder looked like a 3d model creator, is that easy to use?
>>381778321
>brainlet cannot play a real space simulator
Must suck to be you.
I am a Great War and Second Shivan Incursion veteran, and I WILL be addressed as such!
>>381777971
I really wish something like the Delta Wing spaceplane from Orbiter existed in real life, it seems really versatile, rugged, its the Orbiter workhorse
Up to space in a single go and with more style than the space shuttle
X3AP XRM until I saw how much fun Litcube Unniverse looked and lost interest in playing rather than reinstall the game with a bunch of new mods
>>381778593
I just hate how boring and dull the ship design is
>>381779380
The Delta Wing is impossible on many levels, unfortunately.
>>381775853
Well I'm excited to finally play elite dangerous since my toaster couldn't handle it
>>381779808
Sadly
Nexus: The Jupiter Incident 2 when?
>>381778789
Children of A Dead Earth.
>>381778857
The ships appear in orbit. Ship building is not as easy as in KSP, and requires some time to get used to. You can make custom weapons and stuff, though.
>>381779506
M-muh realism...
I'm itching for some open world/sandbox space adventure. Maybe something obscure and unknown. Something like Elite, Space Rangers, and the X series. Games where I can pretty much forget about the main plot and do my own thing. I'm fucking loving Space Rangers HD, it's so damn good.
I'm already 18 hours in Space Rangers HD and I haven't killed a single person, I've been only trading goods between star systems.
>>381779059
>No freespace 3 ever ever
>>381782362
Starsector. Shit is great.
Did any of you fags ever play oolite?
>>381782362
Starsector son.
>>381781193
Nordic Games bought the rights, they even patched the first game to add a bunch of cool shit....so it might be happening.
>>381782651
>Release FS3
>No.
How's Everspace? I've heard a lot of people say it's basically "third person FTL," but I've also heard that's an extreme generalization.
>>381782750
>check up video
>help protect your freedoms
eh?
I want to play a game that is Space Station 13 + Space Rangers. They are both some of my favorite games because of their depth and freedom. Imagine docking some space station with your own space truck, walking around the station and interacting with the crew, drinking some space beer, see shit go down with syndicate terrorists attacking the station, fight your way to the docking bay together with your new ragtag group of friends, and escape the station with your space truck.
Any good space games on sale?
How was Stellaris?
>>381784349
Dead Space is pretty good
>>381775853
homeworld remastered is such a shitshow.
GOG give me Rebel galaxy for free. While it's not good, I think I'm in the mood for some Space grinding.
What about Elite: Dangerous? It's worth it? I hope it isn't a grindfest as big as RG
>>381782896
What did they add? Was this recently or did it slip into my first playthrough a few years ago?
Elitefag here.
It's a super fuckin grind fest. Each update has made it even more grindier. The only thing is, every once in a while- the grind is fun. I used to smuggle millions of creds worth of slaves- grind it into the ground- they nerfed smuggling. If you want a sandbox with lots to do but nothing to do, Elite is for you. The flight model is legit though. Learning curve is rediculous too. Better be ready to Google shit.
That being said, it's still a good game- I've just got all the ships and all the money and there is nothing left to do in it. Been playing for 2 years. The PvP sucks/ doesn't exist, also.
>>381784349
Stellaris is okay, I enjoyed it for a few playthroughs. The mid-late game is terribly repetitive and dull but the early game is fantastic.
How about Endless Space 2? I was planning to grab it when it went on sale but it didn't for some reason, is it worth the $40?
>>381785789
By what i hear it is a grindfest.
btw, does Brigandor count as space game?
You fight with mechs and don't afraid of anything.
>>381785789

>>381779476
Which mods should I start out with in X3 AP?
Now I play a bit, kill a few fighters, then crash into a station or take too long to get to where I need to go and quit.
>>381782362
Is there a way to play Space Ranger with a ship bigger than a fighter?
>>381787943
It's good,but i pirated it
whats the best open world sandbox survival game in space?
osiris new dawn?
empyrion galactic survival?
planet explorers?
astroneers?
>>381788585One mans lie
I remember loving the fuck out of Universal Combat as a kid, just spending hours exploring and stuff.
I haven't played it since it came out when I was like 12 though, and whenever I see it mentioned now it's always how bad it was.
Is it really that terrible? Is there anything good that would replace that niche?
>>381788221
I don't know, but I have seen those huge capital/flagships flying around. I guess it's possible if there's in-game models for them.
>>381788717
Thanks anon! Any tip for starting out on Space Ranger?
>>381788816
Don't piss anyone off unless you have the guns to back up your words.
>>381786042
It happened last year. Engine got upgraded to run on modern systems and at HD resolutions, added steam workshop support, added some bug fixes, etc.
>>381777127
Basically all of the big ones. GraphicsLib and LazyLib are basically required for just about everything. Make sure you do have the actual latest version of the game.
http://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=177.0
>>381786042
They added support for high resolutions, UI tweaks, Mod/Workshop support, bunch of compatibility stuff.

And the last patch came at the end of last year, so relatively recent.
>>381789301
Any mod for the game? Any good mods?
>>381777127
>"Cataclysm" is now a registered trademark of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
Uh oh.
>>381789459
Freespace mod is bretty good, but not a huge modding community for it given no one plays it anymore.
>>381775853
>Welcome admirals, emperors, pilots, captains and pirates
As an asteroid miner; Fuck You.
>>381790471
Do you not pilot your ship?
Soooo, I'm I the only one who is still playing No Mans Sky? It's my relaxation game and my wife's son really likes to watch
>>381783096
Everspace is fun. It's no where near the amount of autism FTL but it's still worth while. Torrent it if you like.
t. 200 hours in FTL
>>381790712
Good point. Also, rebel galaxy is neat for allowing me to make a substantial amount of my, by simply mining asteroid fields. Although I had to hire a guy to watch my ass. I wish I could beam up enemy pilots and sell them to slavery, though, then I'd be a Human Miner
>>381791168
>make a substantial amount of money
Sorry for being a phone posting retard :(
FTL should let you sell crew men for scrap desu
>>381790872
Game is super comfy to play when my wife goes out for the whole weekend.
>>381783561
Now imagine that you have to walk the same path in the station over and over everytime you wanna get to the shops or get a quest/reward. NPC's dialogue repeating over and over again.
It's only cool in theory.
Tfw no game where you rip an tear capital ships from the inside
>>381791579
>letting your wife spend nights outside of the house
Holy cuck on a cucking sandwich with some fried cucks on the side. Grow some balls, "man"
>>381790471
>asteroid miner
sounds comfy as fuck
>>381792281
It is. Flying to some icy belt, scanning surroundings, mining, running away from pirates or fighting them if you think that you can take them, then selling everything to buy a bigger ship and more powerful mining lasers is surprisingly fun
>>381792281
If you're german
So what is your favorite space game /v/?
Spore fags go away
>>381778605
Fuck that series
X: Rebirth left a bad taste in my mouth that I will never get rid of.
Working my way through X-Wing CD right now. Want to cheese some shit and still progress, but X-Wing Editor Pro wants registration; it's ancient, so I'm sure the guy who made it isn't available. Anyone got any registration keys for XWEP, or better yet, a better pilot editor I can use in DOSBox (Win 7 host)?
And yes, I posted here >>>/vr/4079972, but no one's responded yet.
>>381793824
I know it's fucking wrong, but I really enjoyed Rebirth.
>Awesome cockpit/interior felt actually made it feel like a shop
>Walking around stations/ships actually gave everything an awesome sense of scale, especially when you were walking around on some fuck huge ship as it was travelling through space
>Pants on head retarded highway system that made no sense but that was fun as fuck
>Loved exploring the ridiculously huge manufacturing plants, even if finding all the intel things was autismal as fuck
>Didn't actually mind the plot
I mean I know it was a fucking terrible game, but it's absolutely one of my guilty pleasures.
>>381794445
Has anyone hacked in the ability to change ships? I want a capital ship not a fighter.
ship boarding master game
>>381795663
wrong one
>>381794580
Yeah man, check out the Capital Ship Bridge mod.

Are there any mods for this so the UI doesn't look like something out of baby's first tablet game?
