Emulation is legal as long as all of it is reverse engineered, if you have to extract a BIOS or something from the console to run games than that is copyright infringement.

This is false if you own the console you are extract the bios and you own the games themselves. This is why they can only go after hosting sites and not individuals.

Fun fact, if you have an emulator you can just pop in the game disk to your optical drive and it will run on the emulator like a normal game.

Emulators are 100% legal as long they don't include proprietary code from nintendo or sony etc in it, which is why you generally have to download the bios yourself.

Also if you made emulation illegal, microsoft would instantly murder all the other browsers by arguing that their javascript engines are emulators.

Yeah, I put in a blue ray player/writer a few years ago. I don't think I'll ever have a computer without a disk drive simply because you never know when you'll need one and it's not like they're super expensive or inconvenient to set up
