She doesn't develop as a character over the course of the game, and instead actually backslides into spending the last third of the game being a jealous stalker that assaults the rest of the cast for "comic relief." I liked her at first, and gameplay-wise she's a great unit and by far the best "girl with guns" in the series (of which there are a fuckload), but she gets old fast.

What the fuck is wrong with RNG in this game?
I'm playing Disgaea 2, and I've reloaded a mission seven times already, because this little bitch keeps failing a 42% steal. Seven times in a row. Normally there should be a ~2% chance this would happen. Am I just being extremely unlucky, or is it bound to happen, because the game has pre-determined pattern table of successes and failures for every steal attempt? Should I try to reset it by doing another mission or something?

There's no point reloading for something like that. Misses don't consume the Hand you use, so your best bet is to just surround whatever enemy you're trying to steal from and have your entire squad steal until you get the damn thing.

Yeah, but the thief dies next turn. I could attempt the steal on the very first turn. It's easier to just reload the map, than bother with keeping the thief and the target enemy alive.
