Scary? Nah. Suspenseful and tense, yeah sometimes. I feel like there was a weird lack of stealth sections or any reward for doing so, especially in the villages. It always felt like the best tactic was to sanic through everything when there could have been some cool potential for ways to traverse building to building, maybe even on the roof and shit, but nope. Just sprint bitch. I know the first game had the problem, but it was way less expansive in sections and made a bit of sense. Though the raining blood mine chase, the river sequence, and the school btis were all fantastic.

There's no tension if you can just run from them. You might as well play some garrysmod run server, waiting for the match to be over would at least have some tension.

Nowhere as good as the first one desu, the story and characters are terrible and the whole "creepy hillbilly town" setting is overdone.

The first one was set in an asylum which is an even bigger cliche but at least it had the secret facility and MKUltra twist.

The best parts were the high school flash backs. At least those displayed a small amount of visual creativity which aside from a couple of moments like raining blood was completely missing from the main title.

There were far too many moments where the designers outright created situations where you more or less either have to luck through or die to figure out what to do. The first game nearly always allowed you the space and knowledge to work out how and where to go to do whatever it is that needed done to progress.
