Centralfiction is the latest and the last BB story wise. I would say the tier gaps are pretty far apart. Izanami, Nine, Arakune, Izayoi, Azrael, Jin and Carl are all SSS tiers while Noel, Bullet and Kagura are all virtually unplayable when you want to get to midlevel. Its a fun game though if youre just trying to mess around. The story's hit or miss and you need to have followed the plot from the first BB to understand this one

Yes but they only borrow certain elements of GG in DBFZ, although GG will get you into the mindset of how ASW developed competitive fighters work, it also has a very good tutorial that teaches you legacy tech like instant airdashing and fuzzy blocking. DBFZ is more or less Arcana Hearts 3 Love Max mixed with Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 with dashes of GG since GG serves as the template for all anime fighters.

Arksys is quite prolific when it comes to making fighting games. They all have the same basic style, but there are huge differences in how the games are actually played. FighterZ is intentionally going to be very different, since it borrows the tag elements from MvC, and we know that there isn't any throwing in the game.

There is throwing but it isnt throwing per se. The mechanic works as throwing since it breaks guards but aesthetically theyre pummeling them upwards into an air combo. You can even tech out of those which results in the fast paced punching and kicking animations

You have unblockable punch rushes that result in a Dust if they land instead, and you can either deflect them the same way you deflect beams, or counter with your own rush and go into the standard "rapid punch clash" or whatever you want to call it that happens in DBZ.
