Can someone explain why those games are so well liked? I legit can't stand those fucking isaac games. I have to basically have a guide up to know what half the items do and even then it's just random if you get good items or a bunch of shit and die 3 stages in and have to start over from 0 again. So tedious and boring I will never understand it
>>

Undertale is okay. Not "overwhelmingly positive"-tier great, but a solid 7/10 nonetheless.
>>
>>381758621
ZTD, while not the literal worst thing you will encounter in your life, is ranked the lowest out of the trilogy without question. I won't spoil anything, but the main flaw of it is that it doesn't follow up on what VLR set up. The majority of the questions you may have had from VLR aren't addressed or recognized in ZTD and that aspect along with all of the shenanigans that take its place makes the game feel lackluster. You could make the argument that it was wrong for people to have high expectations of the game to deliver, but with it being the third game, why shouldn't there be expectations?
That said, I'm not going to tell you to buy it or not, but you will at least get some enjoyment out of it if you choose to play it. The puzzles and the few twists it has are enjoyable on their own legs. However, if you found VLR was pushing it, assuming you meant it was reaching borderline bad, you'll probably find ZTD worse and understand why it is ranked at the bottom.
>>
>>381759482
How does that even make sense. How does that even affect the game itself? So if someone lives in a cave with no internet and don't know about "the people that play it" the game is suddenly a good game?

What?
>>

OpenIV. It wasn't a mod. It was the framework pretty much all GTA IV and V mods are built on. Like, if Valve suddenly pulled down the Source SDK and Hammer and banned anyone using it.
>>
>>381759640
So you're just an idiot parroting with 0 facts, got it thanks for clarifying
>>
>>381759592
>How does that even make sense.
it's quite simple; if you're the type of person who likes to engage in the community of your favourite games, and doing so enhances your experience of the game, it makes sense that if the community is shit, your experience with the game will likewise be dulled. depends on how you like to enjoy your games.
>>
>>381759694
Hot dang. That's really petty on 2K's part.

>>
>>381759753
Okay, but that's only for those people that only enjoy games based on a community thing. That's like saying Persona 5 is less enjoyable to me because of waifu faggots. I play the game for the fun of it, not to sexualize underage 2D girls, but just because others do that won't make me suddenly like P5 less, but yeah I guess some people are different (and weird)
>>381759761
It's cool, man. I just don't see why other people need to affect YOUR enjoyment of a game. Who cares about an image or what others thing of a game? the game is the game, its 1s and 0s, data with no mind of its own, its just the game and it should be enjoyed (or hated) just on what it is, not because some faggots jack off to a goat

I find GTA to be one of the most schizophrenic franchises in gaming these days.

Each game is built around making fun of the most absurd and destructive aspects of society, but then the company that owns it is arguably one of the greediest and most detached in the industry. It's a little disgusting tbqh.

>I won't spoil anything
I will. The twist is that you're viewing the game from the perspective of a 124-year-old man from the future who everyone is aware of but nobody including the camera ever calls attention to. He's the result of Sigma and Diana getting it on in a bad timeline and sending copies of their two children (him and Phi) back to the past through a temporal fax machine dropped off by random wandering aliens. Phi was then sent back to the present while Delta lived out the rest of his life trying to organize the Decision game, for the purpose of causing his own birth in one timeline while saving humanity in another timeline by using Radical-6 to kill off three-quarters of the world population that may or may not contain the terrorist who had planned to do so. He then may or may not have used his special OC superpower, the ability to mind hack, to cause characters to perform the required decisions for his complex plans to come to pass as was necessary. Also Mira indirectly caused the entire series chronology to happen by killing a random who was led onto a scenic route due to a snail being present, and endgame dialogue (that, given VLR, may or may not be canon) suggests she will attempt to go back in time and prevent the series from ever happening.

It's even more retarded than it sounds, if you can believe it, but it may be worth pirating for the memes and/or for Carlos.
>>
>>381760213
What's wrong with this?
>>
>>381759694
The difference is Valve chooses to make Hammer and the general Source SDK so long as you follow certain licensing guidelines and so forth

OpenIV was completely third party and operating in a legal grey area. Russian authorities went with Take2 in interpreting the Russian reverse engineering legal text
>>
>>381759854
Same publisher. What if they went after Civ 3/4 modders with C&Ds?
>>
>>381760405
Nobody is doubting Take Two's legal right to issue the C&D.

They just shouldn't have done so. And the flood of negative reviews were the userbase's way of gently reminding them of that.
>>

>>381757574
Sometimes a game seems good but the more you play the more you see it coming apart at the seams.

I remember there was a cool pseudo-turn-based action/stealth game where you play as a ninja in a biker helmet. It seemed great until it became apparent the controls were really wonky for doing anything with any finesse, and as the levels became more complex I found myself repeatedly dying solely because of the shitty controls not doing what they should.

Then there was Punch Club, which seems interesting at first but becomes increasingly tedious as the choices you make turn out to be either way more limited than they appear or entirely pointless to begin with. Then there's the comedy made up entirely of pop culture references with no real punchlines, and the confusing bullshit anticlimactic ending.

While I mostly agree, when you put the name of a franchise as famous as monhun on a game, you need it to still feel like a monhun unless you announce you want to change the formula, as for the gtaV thing, the players don't want this to create the precedent that will allow companies to think that this is ok, to kill the mods and add a multiplayer component that already makes you a ton of money, but could make you more, cause that is realistically the main reason take2 wanted to ban mods, not because the game itself is not fun without mods.

All it does is lower the score of older games that don't even have the problem they are complaining about. Not that anyone cares, GTAV has had a fairly stable player base for months.

XCOM EU is getting negative reviews in droves because 2K are the publisher, and people are having an autistic fit over the GTA mod scandal.

Proof really that user reviews mean jack shit.

Do you think if you raise a Croc from a larva Croc when it's all grown up and out of its cocoon it would be friendly?

>It's actually shit

Reviews are worthless. I always check just to see if the negative reviews are butthurt faggots crying about DLC or the game being temporarily broken.

Meh, it's pretty common. Nowadays it's easy to put hundreds of hours into a game just for the dev to suddenly release an update that screws the game completely.

Around 12 hours ago, this actually described the reviews on Binary Domain's page, the game itself is great but the port is subpar due to being a console port that requires opening a separate set up menu to configure controls

They literally ruined the monster series with X and XX. This looks like it could be great. It literally looks like how they envisioned the first MH on PS2 to be.

Yeah this is the thing, they can give all the negative reviews they want but we are talking about a corporation here, they only care about money, their playerbase didnt suffer at all so they will continue to make money.
