This list is extremely solid actually. Lots of historically important and deserving games here.

In fact the only one I'm a bit iffy on is Goldeneye since it has aged the most poor of these games listed but I completely understand the fact it was an important game for consoles. Besides that I had a ton of fun with it anyways in the 90's playing both its single player and multiplayer.

The best part of this list is no meme games like that overrated and overhyped Undertow. You also don't have clearly undeserving shit there like TLOU which clearly had a ton of shilling going into it to inflate its status as a GOAT game when it clearly wasn't deserving of such.

Only game I feel is very deserving to be on this list and with no bias is Dark Souls. An important game, a great game and my favorite game. Again no bias here. Just because it is my favorite game doesn't mean it isn't deserving btw. It innovated in gaming at a time when gaming was at an all time low.

Why does everyone ride Goldeneye's dick so hard? Perfect Dark was run on the same engine, just with more performance because of the RAM pack or whatever it was called.

PD had an original story, interesting characters and adding FUCKING AI to spice up the multiplayer.

If nothing else, the best Goldeneye maps were in PD and most of the weapons were too, so you could play Goldeneye multiplayer, with Goldeneye guns, with 8 super-competitive AI characters with better graphics. There was no downside.

Plus, the Perfect Dark guns were great, the level design was good and the single player was just as awesome too.

Goldeneye came at the right time for the right console. It isn't really remarkable today and many people who weren't playing games at the time might even be puzzled why it is so highly regarded. A lot of people would probably not think so highly of it if they ever went back.

With that said it still did a whole lot. Like the missions within the campaign for example. Never seen that in another FPS before Goldeneye. Also you can't hate on that amazing soundtrack.

If you had to bring a list of video games to an alien universe where they had no video games to show them what it's like, this would be a really good list of games to bring actually. I like it, though, it's pretty generalist so anyone who likes video games probably couldn't disagree with most of it.

I grew up playing Sony consoles as well and for the most part you don't really buy their shit for their exclusives. You buy them for 3rd party games and maybe that one exclusive that is worth a shit. I am one of those pokemon neckbeards desu, its one of my favorite franchises and I go on /vp/ daily. Red and Blue still bring a lot to the table in my opinion, I think the best thing about the old gens is in Red and Blue it takes you three minutes to get your starter and you're on your way, generally unhindered for the rest of the game, the fun never stops. In modern pokemon games you're only allowed to really play at your own pace after the first four hours of dialogue, cutscene, and tutorials. I'd put Gen 2 over Gen 1 though. Gen 2 changes so little, its basically Gen 1+. I can't see anyone who prefers Gen 1 saying Gold and Silver were bad.
