I liked Blue's version Exclusives more. Just remember that crit odds were based on the speed stat back then, so pokemon like jolteon, persian, dugtrio, electrode will land a crit roughly every other move.

I just played through Red again to transfer the legendaries over to Moon and I can't say I recommend it. You will end up fighting a lot of trainers who literally have 4 or 5 of the same pokemon. QoL is very low, with very limited item space and navigating the menus being a pain in the ass. The movesets almost all suck massive floppy wiener and Psychic pokemon are all pretty much broken. Play Firered/Leafgreen instead. It fixes most, if not all of the dumb shit.

Arcanine wasn't very good in RBY. It's stats were in physical attack so it couldn't optimize it's type like Ninetales could. Belsprout line has better stats and looks cooler in my opinion. Persian has the speed advantage over primeape, even with the type disadvantage it would outspeed and win with one slash attack. Agree sandslash and scyther are bros. Electabuzz and Magmar are about the same in that just about every other fire and electric type in the game are better than them, but Electabuzz looks better and can learn more TM moves.
