I appreciate the fact that the game really punishes you for making a mistake since there's no way to get out of combos and you have keep constant eye on the GrD bar. It's one of the few systems I really feel that rewards players for being smart in both their offense and defense.

You're not completely wrong, Eltnum's most basic combos usually just involve groundbouncing an opponent constantly and shooting them when they're on the ground. There's still a few other variations in her combo paths that are way more strict in their timing.

I'm not sure of her current status in UNIST but everyone got balanced so there's only 3 tiers. I assume you've been watching western tournies with UNIEL? There's a good channel that shows off UNIST and how the Japanese players play them, I honestly haven't watched too many of the western scene for the series.

What is this meme? GG combos aren't that long time wise alot of characters ground combos are also rather short and only lengthy if they spend meter/land a counter hit more like Sols fafnir in the corner counter hit etc.

A basic combo with Sol for example is 5K 2D bandit revolver or adding a 5/2S in the middle of that. Alot of longer combos are off counter hit moves/AAs. Without meter Ky BnBs end in knockdown and Ky loops aren't that long its just two dp relaunches.

Because I can only play Soul Calibur II's campaign so many times, and every other "serious" fighting game I've played has either rapidly lost my interest (BlazBlue, Skullgirls) or revealed itself to be full-retard preemptive combo-inputting autism.
Give me Soul Calibur V on Steam with all DLC bundled into it, and I'll play fighting games again.

She was mid tier. Not bad but not amazing. Her zoning is great but her defense is COMPLETE ASS. All her normals appropriate for poking out of defense are pretty slow and she has no reversal besides FULL METER. The nerfs they did were mostly to her damage output so they were pretty unnecessary IMO.

For example, why would a beginner spend hours mastering Sol's dustloop when they never can get opponent into a corner and can never land a hit once getting the opponent in the corner for that dust loop. There's lots of lanky black people but most of them that I've spoken to have very good builds and in general are quite fit. Pointing and clicking is a slightly different breed of violence compared to close contact, even if it's on a screen. I don't have fun anymore because my play style is combo based, in newer games I can't get to learn the combos and it just pisses me off. In older games I always played combo heavy characters like Talim in SC or Ayane in DoA, but lately I have issues learning the combos and even when I learn them I can't pull them off reliably in matches even against faggots who spam the same attack over and over. If you want to play offense with guile throw a boom, walk up behind it, and either try to hit the opponent with normals or with a tick throw. Build a charge during blockstrings so that you can boom or flash kick afterwards. Pretty much the same as every other character. Guile kind of sucks at offense in most SF games but it's just kind of. Pick Chun if you want a charge character with more offense. Chun is a damn monster when she's up against an opponent with no good anti-air.

The skill ceiling for base level competency is high and I'm kind of a shitter.

Because I could spend hundreds of hours learning optimal combos, be able to do those optimal combos at any point in time with muscle memory, study the game for every character and all their frame data, then finally apply all of that knowledge to take down a strong opponent, or I could play basically any other game and get way more enjoyment for the time that I put into it.

I tried to make myself play the game on ps3, ps4 and pc but i never find anyone from my region.

i even went to discord but most people there just waifu post all the time. I only got one match out of the discord.

I was even able to play a little with the japs while i was there but fuck me the lenght of the combos is huge as hell and not being able to tech throws while crouched kinda sucks(at least i couldnt at the time, not sure on how it is now).

Main has to be the weirdest, gimmickiest character in the roster, not necessarily low tier. Usually ends up being somewhere between zoner to mid range poker. Grapplers are fun to play around as a sub character to.
I usually avoid edgelords and waifubait but I always try to learn every character in the game so I end up liking some aspects of those characters anyways.
