How can Nintendo save Star Fox?

Push the absolute living fuck out of their latest console by doing what other consoles are not capable of doing, just like the original game.

In other words, they turn Star Fox into a 4D experience.

No more control gimmicks that prevent more than give (Switch is a single screen experience according to Kimishima so that point's done)
More content that warrants the modern day expectations and price point
If you're going to have more story, don't make it Zero levels of shallow or Command levels of terrible

Personally I want another Assault, or an Adventure that isn't a complete Zelda rip-off.

All they really need to do is make another SF64, but with a new plot and on a larger scale. Maybe five branching and intertwined paths.

Do something new, pure on rails with no ALL RANGE MODE, and make a female pilot team with krystal, miyu, and fay. That should cover the basic things people ask for.

Give the player more options.
More routes, more vehicles/on foot, but never make the different modes of play the only way to progress. But not too many, too many means the ones that are there will be half assed.
The chicken walker in Zero was a good example of this, while the helicopter was a bad example of this.

Multiplayer is needed, some kind of basic arena all/range mode fighting place would be enough, or a mode where enemies come and you have to fight them.

If it is a full priced game, there should be enough content to justify that.

Maybe some kind of system for training the different pilots and/or unlocking weapons, a reason to keep coming back.
