No. I have no interest in a gaymen tablet. And they ship with a number of defects right out of the box, which is rather telling of the quality of manufacturing, and a potentially short hardware life. Been playing BotW. Had it since launch and played for a month straight, got to castle hotels and stopped due to fatigue and other games.

Hype from E3 made me go back, I beat Ganon and now I'm taking my time exploring the world and falling in love with the game again.

My favorite way to play is either TV or table top mode with split join cons but handheld in bed is always nice.

I tried a few of the new Xbone controllers and was disappointed with the build quality. First one the battery cover literally broke the first time I tried to take it off and the second one was hissing whenever it was on. The top and bottom shell also didn't seem to align nicely giving a sharp edge. And the X button was squeaking occasionally which is also super annoying

Everything these days seems like it's cheap chinese made shit. Probably because it is. Nintendo's stuff seems to be a notch above the rest, even if the quality is still disappointing

I got Puyo on it recently so I've been playing that a lot. I haven't ever used anything but handheld mode yet.

I did. Never had I had this much buyer's remorse for a video game, or anything. Literally played it for two hours then got bored. Plus, saving up for and getting arms for each character is such a fucking boring grind. Even with varied arms, the gameplay gets boring fast. Nah, I think ARMS was less "We need to get into Esports" and more "Let's try and repeat Splatoon's success with another new IP". It followed the EXACT same formula as Splatoon 1, being a barebones game that probably didn't require much budget or manpower, but with the promise of DLC to boost it up in the future.

The problem is that Nintendo thought they could skimp out on the singleplayer this time and it bit them hard in the ass. The same problem many fighting game series seem to be having. If we do see an ARMS 2 I think it will have a much bigger budget and dev time like Splatoon 2.

I played it on PC and at the price, I wouldn't recommend it. The new art is the highlight, it looks great. But the gameplay is sorely dated. Enemies are designed to be as annoying as possible while being overly simple in fundamental design. It's hard to explain I guess, but it definitely doesn't feel like a modern game. That said, it's not even hard. If you buy all the upgrades you should be able to beat the final boss with ease in under 5 hours

I think it's a little of both. Splatoon sold fucking gangbusters, so why wouldn't they try to make another super popular new IP for everyone to talk about instead of continuing to milk the same familiar handful of series? eSports has been really taking off in recent years and with all the money that could be made there, it makes sense for Nintendo to try to make their own eSport-worthy series. Yes, Smash is competitive, but Nintendo is dead set on trying to keep it primarily a fun party game, so I think it's cool for Nintendo to make a fighting game they actually want to see be competitive

I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the N64 days, yet I desperately want to get a Switch mainly for, BOTW, Odyssey, MK8 Deluxe and Xenoblade 2. Are there any rumors on Smash brothers coming to Switch? Can't Nintendo in the mean time at least port the most recent entry to Switch?

Reggie himself said "it would not be a Nintendo system without Smash". It's guaranteed to come, we just don't know how long.

As for porting the game, since they just had tournaments for Pokken, Splatoon and ARMS at E3, announcing Smash would have taken the spotlight from those games. I'll give it a year for it to be formally announced.

It's not a game that requires any skill or that challenges you.
It's just a game you wander through and dick around in. Even worse than all the other Zelda games in that regard.
