Depends on the stick you ordered. The sub-100 Horis are notoriously bad, but the ones above 100 are pretty good. Keep practicing and don't be afraid to swap out components if need be. Comfort is key.

Most of my time is spent on GGXrd and SFV, but I still play lots of other fighting games because I just like to play videogames with friends

Should a keyboard user get a stick or a hitbox? I feel like a stick would be easier for some things especially with square gate for dragon punches and shit but a hitbox would be easier to get right into and overall have more control.

I transitioned from keyboard to Hitbox with little to no problems. I have been using it for years. I didn't go with a stick because I felt I would make too many misinputs with it. Not saying to get it from that alone, but just giving you something to help make your decision.
